...you are scaring me. Does anyone familiar with Spott have an idea of what he'll want in his players?
Lets hope the obvious choices in the event of a lockout neutralizes the Pendergast effect. Listen, Pendergast wasn't to blame for 2011 meltdown in the 3rd period... he wasn't to blame for last year's 1st 2 periods in the semi-final....I blame a lot of it on players and mostly on the coaches...but there's no question, as a scout...Pendergast has failed everywhere he's gone.
Those would be the shoe ins, this list doesnt include other 93's like Lessio, Ouellet, Puempel, and St.Croix who will all be in the mix.
Danault, who was among the last cuts for last year's team, has broken out offensively in the Q this season. He's another 93 who has a very strong chance at making the team.
going to be hard to make some of these cuts. if no nhl i could see him having a chance.
Even if the NHL is having camps during the selection period and loads of guys aren't available, I would be shocked to see McDavid even get invited to WJC selection camp.

There's no chance. According to Hockey Canada rules. No player can participate in an U20 event until he participates in an U18 event. This was the justification HC gave this summer for not allowing Mackinnon to participate in the Summit Series.
MaDavid will be representing Ontario in the U17 Hockey Challenge this Christmas and that team will be stacked.
I don't think Mcdavid is ready to be on the WJC team frankly. He's putting up points and probably still would in the WJC but the physical standpoint of it, he's not ready. Plus he cant anyway.
Someone mentioned Mcdavid. Yeah I can't see him getting invited either. He's only 15 yet so he's to young for this event.
Really looking forward to the team this year, if the NHL's still in lockout in early December (I don't think it will be) when they invite people to camp this could be a better team for Canada than usual.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
Havent seen any games of the 2 this year but I would lean towards Ceci getting that spot over Percy, Cecis seems to be producing very well and he also got an invite this summer
