Really nice to see Hudon getting some love. Kid's a gamer.

Corrado has a shot, and right now nobody has established themselves as a 'lock' outside the 3 possible returnees - Murray-Harrington, and Hamilton.

Nobody from the WHL cemented a spot IMO, so he still very much has a chance to make the team.
Oh, I know who he is, for god's sake.

And come on, I know that draft position means nothing once you're drafted, but come on. There are so many better players than Corrado.

But my point is, Canucks fans literally have posted "I think Corrado has a chance" in this thread a dozen times without any prompting. For crying out loud, y'all are getting a little high on this kid for having a nice first 20 games to a season.

Nobody's knocking Corrado. Only Canucks fans are bringing him up.

I'm a big booster of this kid. I don't care that he isn't NHL size. He competes as hard as anyone. Speed and dogged determination go a long way to making the NHL. The Habs got a steal in Hudon. He will at the very least be a great checker in the NHL.

For anyone that missed it last night on the SSS broadcast, the selection camp roster will apparently be announced 12/3.

Name the players 'so' much better?

Like I said there are 3 locks: Murray, Harrington, and Hamilton

After that it's an open competition.

I'd love to see Lowry make it. I think he has all the tools to be a perfect 3rd or 4th line guy.

Perfect answer.

So that's 5 d-men.

Probably 2 more spots to fill.

He's got a great chance.

I'd like to see him there too, but for selfish reasons obviously.

I have him on my roster, but he's by no means a 'lock'.
I think Rielly would need to be injured, or just fall of the map, to not be considered a lock at this point. His capabilities are just too good to pass up. Hockey Canada is absolutely going to want to look at the bigger picture with Rielly, and the big picture is that he is the kind of player who will be a bigtime puck mover for them, a key piece on the PP, and a catalyst for their offense.

I'm a Canucks fan and Rielly is a lock for me. Given who Murphy's coach is and his history with Team Canada, I believe he is a lock as well. I'd be surprised if Oullette wasn't considered as close to a lock as anyone left after that, so to me, there is only one question mark on D.

Personally, I hope that Murphy is seen from his coach as the specialist role. It would be difficult for Corrado to beat out some of his peers who have the international experience and pedigree for that last spot. He wouldn't just need to be as good as them. He would have to significantly outshine them in camp.

So of course he has a chance, but it is a long shot.

We wouldn't be shoving Corrado down everyone's throats if a certain group of people weren't shoving Rielly down ours.

Come on Rielly is universally hyped, and rightfully so. You guys are turning into Ottawa with the whole Mark Stone thing

It seems unlikely that Spott will cut his own highly drafted player, for better or worse. Corrado is basically competing for one free spot.

Rielly and Murphy are too similar.

Don't see a use for both.

Is puempel a lock too?

If Spott takes Murphy just because he coaches him he's a fool.

Why not? Two dman that can jump up into the play seamlessly and be back to defend is a very valuable thing to have. They don't have to be playing on the same line. Have one on PP 1, the other on PP 2.

And Corrado's game is unique, special and an integral component to winning? What exactly sets him apart from his peers?

I like all 3 of these players by the way and the Canucks are my team. I just think that Murphy will more than likely start out as a PP specialist 7th D, and I'd like to have someone with Rielly's skill set as a regular contributor. Harrington and Murray are both super steady and Hamilton is a great 2 way guy. I think we need a truly offensive defenseman in the mix on a regular shift.

Lets hope Canada picks the best players and doesn't rely on draft position or rep. I thought Dumba was an adventure in his own zone in both games and shouldn't be on the team. Among the Undrafted or late picks, I thought both Corrado and Pulock played well and deserve another look and serious consideration.

On D I think 2 pairings will be:

Harrington - Hamilton
Murray - Reinhart

Although I don't really like him much, hockey canada LOVES Dumba, so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team due to politics.

I kind of doubt Murphy makes the team this year, I think Reilly or Pulock will be the 7th D (although they probably won't take any 17 year olds)

Poor, poor example. Sens fans pushed for Mark Stone on the team because we knew what an asset he would be for Team Canada

Were we wrong?

There is no way Team Canada takes Drouin Mckinnon Monahan Shinkaruk up front...they will/might take 2: Mckinnon and Monahan.

Replace Drouin and Shinkaruk by 2 BIG skating players- who, i dont know. Maybe Graovac or Ewanyk or A. Lowry or Di Guiseppe (every one seems to have forgotten about him) - We dont want to be pushed around by the Russians Swedes or Americans...

I don't want a team of Grinders...But i also don't want a team of 17 year olds...

And i doubt very much that RHN will go...my opinion
