Separations can be mild or serious, but dislocations are pretty much always serious. Murray will not be back in time to help team Canada. At least not without jeopardizing his career.

How do they tell if its Separation or dislocation without an MRI which will be done Sunday or Monday?

And yes, i hope its not a dislocation....to bad...really to bad...

As of now, this doesn't look good: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=645864&print=true

"It's not good news," Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson told the Dispatch. "Right now his arm is in a sling, held tight to his body, and he's in a lot of pain. He'll have an MRI [exam] early this week, and then we'll know more.

"You'll have to see how much damage he's done to the labrum. Does he have any broken bones from the thrust of the fall? Once it's come out, it tends to come out easier in the future. Our doctors will take a look at the tests and we'll decide the next step."

Loss of Murray makes it..

Harrington - Hamilton
Rielly - Ouellet
Reinhart - Murphy
Dumba
Corrado

??
That is, if Murray's injury is 7 weeks +
The top six i think will now be:
Dougie Hamilton
Scott Harrington
Morgan Rielly
Xavier Ouellet
Ryan Murphy - Will he be displaced by someone else??
Griffin Reinhart
Ryan Murray - Out with injury

Who will be the 7th ?? I think it will be one of the BIG D, due to the fact that this is NOT a BIG D group...We need a big D to clear the NET...Any thoughts ??

Mathew Dumba
Pouliot, Derrick
Duncan Siemens - BIG D (something this team will need ???)
Pulock, Ryan ???? not his time yet
Matt Finn ???
Stuart Percy ??
Slater Koekkoek
Cody Ceci - BIG D (something this team will need ???)
Adam Pelech
Frank Corrado

Griffin Reinhart is a big D, as is Dougie Hamilton. I think they are ok in that aspect. As a Canucks fan I'm hoping this opens up an opportunity for Frankie Corrado.

Considering I had Dumba over Murphy, he'll be there. Corrado isn't a bad choice, but Dumba has the "well known" factor over him.

Dumba did NOT play well at all in the subway series...I actually thought Duncan Siemens was pretty steady ... and he is BIG and mean what this D lacks

I'd rather have a good Defensive Dman like maybe Finn or Siemens.

Ah thats what you mean by big I think Duncan Siemens could fit that role well. We will have to wait and see what happens with the MIR, but it isn't looking good for Murray.

Finally someone says it! Put him on the third pairing, and have him beat the crap out of anyone in front of the net.

Not to put Dumba down, but he looked LOST (chicken without a head) in the subway series...Siemens is MEAN and BIG (Last year we had Oleksiak he is BIG but didnt see any meanness at the WJC) - Siemens is MEAN and steady...Really hope he gets an invite....

Why do you randomly capitalize words for no grammatical reason?

If Murray is gone, his spot has to be taken by a defensive defenceman. I really don't like the idea of Rielly, Murphy and Dumba all making the team.

Exactly, my vote goes to Wotherspoon who can also pile up some points.

Why does everybody have Ouellet over guys like Reinhart, Dumba, or Siemens? I've never heard of the guy.

PPG+ defenseman in the Q going on 2 years now and already played for Team Canada during the Canada/Russia Challenge in the summer and was very good. He's a virtual lock for these 2 reasons and because Steve Spott seems to have a soft spot for him.
