Holtby's contract is up...? That's going to be interesting. He's developed nicely. If he's not re-signing with you guys, I can only see him moving to the EPL, joining the German collection at Arsenal or taking over from Sahin in Liverpool.

I highly doubt that particular situation is on the cards.

It is up. He indeed developed very nicely... I'm not one to brag usually, but here I'll do it.. I was one of the few people that regarded him as a vital player last season (when he played the offensive part of holding midfield) when many were writing him off. Now he can show his true potential.

He's quick, good on dribbling, has good shot and finishing, vision, on-pitch intelligence... if he develops as he's doing right now, he'll be one hell of a midfielder. Not only that, despite his size he had quite a strong build too and will use it in defensive situations.

Of course I still have hope for him extending his contract (which is for my liking even more important than Huntelaar's signature), but yeah he might just go to the EPL. His father is english and he used to be an Everton fan.

Just today I saw a rumour of him joining Liverpool (actually Hutelaar too).

Liverpool? I dont think so. For all I know he's a huge Everton fan and have been since a kid. And considering how the Premier League looks and all I dont see why he would prefer Liverpool over Everton that have something damn good going for them.

Liverpool would pay him more and are the more ambitious club..you know there's pictures of Steven Gerrard in an Everton kit as well.

Such things can change very quickly in football. I think the bosses loved Magath but with the team in a tailspin and Magath having lost the dressing room (full of players he signed) they had little choice but to pull the emergency brakes here.

Liverpool have struggled in recent times (and still finished ahead of Everton a number of times outside of last season), but Liverpool are a) far more ambitious b) much stronger financially c) much bigger chance of going places compared to Everton due to these two factors.

And who you supported as a kid doesn't really matter (Owen, Carra etc)

Wouldn't mind it, either. But I guess they'll be allowed to have some water and start playing some time.

Also, goddammit Stuttgart, way to ruin the perfect 7-0 run for German teams internationally this week.

10 of the first team squad out for the Cologne game. Get a great start, silly pen, then a great Cologne goal.

Also Stark is a ****ing terrible referee

Massive point, Köln are so lucky we were missing 10 senior players and were playing basically a makeshift defence.

Wolfgang is a ****ing terrible, terrible referee, worst in Germany by a mile

Well this weekend turned out well for FCK in the end, missing 10 players and not losing ground in promotion fight, very nice.

Torrejon, Yahia, Riedel (defence) Alushi, De Wit, Azaouagh, Zuck, Derstroff (midfield) Bunjaku, Micanski (attack)

Torrejon, Alushi, De Wit, Zuck, Bunjaku all starting team players as well.

Not looking forward to the Bayern game, squad is so thin, I'd rather just play a weak team and not play any of the players who have knocks etc, league has to be 100% the focus

so monday I was wearing shorts to university and now we're playing on snow. I thought that was a thing of the past, was under the assumption that it was now a requirement to have a pitch heating..

I thought the pitch heating had more to do with the pitch not freezing becoming ice like, not clearing snow?

it was snowing in Freiburg but sunny in Dusseldorf

Wolfsburg finally win and convincingly at that. Mainz are looking good this season especially now with Szalai in form.

But it's funny with stuttgart. In the winter break they'll recover and make a run and get to the european cup or close to it, and the new manager will be hailed, only to be fired after 10 games into the season after, I don't know about many teams that have that similar seasons year after year like stuttgart.
Labbadia is looking to break the chain

Good to see an ex-FCK'er score the winner in Munich

24 years since Leverkusen last won in Munich apparently!

The Gladbach-Hannover game was amazing. Hannover took a well deserved 2-0 lead before Gladbach stormed back in the last 20 minutes to win. Arrango really took things over.
