Hannover/Braunschweig will be huge. No doubt. It's more from the past since both teams didn't square of often over the last 20 years. But it'll be intense. Lots of violence between the supporters. Things I hate to be honest.
Braunschweig/Wolfsburg will be another problem game I think.

Braunschweig supporters are well known for their violence.

Realistically Hannover is out of the run for the last EL spot with the draw vs. Frankfurt today. Bye Mame Diouf. I really liked you.

Even 17 points ahead, there's a remarkable drive in that group to not accept anything less than a win. Heynckes and Sammer really managed to cultivate a winning atmosphere, just looking at the reactions after the late goal to win things today. It's quite a feat to instill that kind of attitude into a team, and not see it peel off even in the light of a competition all but sealed in.
I agree, you can tell it's a much different atmosphere around the team this year, even being so far out in front but still fighting back at the end of these games is awesome to see, I think that will really come into play the deeper we get into Champions League. Although I'm very excited to see Pep take over next year, I'll still miss Heynckes, he has done alot for this team.

By the way have you heard anything suggesting that the team is playing against the coach? A 96 fan I know told me that Slomka is apparently trying to manipulate the other officials and play them out against each other... a "mini-magath" as she called it. Any chatter of that in hanover?

No, never heard of things like that. I don't think the team is playing against the coach. He just prolonged his contract and with the exception of Pinto, who's a jerk anyway, and Rausch, who I'll drive to Wolfsburg in my old car, I never heard there's a problem between players and coach.

The relationship between Slomka and Schmadtke is different thing.

The problem with H96 is that they win their games at home (usually) but lose in other stadiums. Add to this their thin depth and the injuries (Andreasen, Schultz, Huszti) and of course their weak defence and you have a borderline EL team.

Rumours of behavior like this date way back to his time at TeBe and also at Schalke, so this isn't even surprising.

Seems like nobody wants 4th place, Frankfurt return to 4th without even playing after big losses for Freiburg anf Schalke

Massive win for Augsburg in Hamburg, 5 points from safety and both Hoffenheim and Furth drop points as well. Teams like Stuttgart and Werder Bremen can't relax yet. Nurnberg with their win today are probably safe though. Maybe 3-4 points to be sure

What a terrible matchday. Goes to show how awful this league is this season, outside of Bayern. Schalke throw away half the season, drop 13 points already against the last 5 of the table, and still somehow have a shot at the top four. Same with Hamburg, constant mediocrity, frankfurt have fallen off a cliff, etc. Even ****ing Dortmund isn't playing great in the league, yet they cruise to probably a second place finish. Same deal at the bottom, when teams like Düsseldorf arent in immidiate relegation trouble, something is wrong.

I still think they have chances at 16th

Too bad Augsburg had such an awful 1st half, had they only won 1 more game there they would be 3 points from safety and relatively comfortable in 16th at least

Nah, Köln are going to get it because Foda

Though Union does have a decent run in.

Either way, I think Augsburg wins in the playoff against FCK / Köln / Union

They have a chance, but they've been pretty unimpressive for the most part under Kurz for me, plus I really hope they go down

Ugly win for Bayern at Leverkusen. Dominated the first half without any adversity from Leverkusen, had a 1-0 lead. Didn't do a lot in 2nd half. Backed up, started giving up scoring chances, surrendered the equalizer on a corner, and seemed well on the way to finding a way to lose the game, when Schweinsteiger put in a good free kick from way out and it went in on a deflection.

It's obviously not in the least worrysome to lose a game here or there (had that happened) with the 20-point lead. However, the team needs to find a way to challenge itself, even if it doesn't mean anything. It's impossible to just go cruise-control week after week and then suddenly try to switch gears for the huge games coming up.

In very related news, with a win for Bayern next gameday and a non-win from Dortmund, Bayern could clinch the title - still in March, with 7 games to go.

Given how long he was there, he could probably be brought in and nobody really would notice.

Balakov former Hajduk manager, remember he riled up Tony Pulis in a Europa League qualifier saying Stoke don't play football

See, that's no worse than you'll see in an average stoke city game.
