To be fair. Mario Gotze will be lucky if he becomes half as good as Kirch.

Dortmund fans can just shrug it off and say, pff, keep fishing in the small ponds, we got Kirch

Kirch just brushed up against Lewa's boots today and Lewa scored 4 goals. Can imagine how many goals Dortmund would've had if they had just cut out the middle man and played Kirch?

UEFA would not stand for that. It's kind of a mercy rule to not have Kirch play himself.

Really proud of Dortmund and how they utilized their speed to crush Madrid.

Only thing that worries me is their defending and lack of experience in high stress games, be a bit more cynical won'tcha?!

First of all, welcome back BTSV. They used to be my worst enemy, because I support H96. And I know many in my city hate you as much as you hate us.

The answer to your question is: I don't know. It will be interesting to see how VW will react. Both, Wolfsburg and to a lesser account Braunschweig, are VW.

Braunschweig is tradition, heart, soul, diehard fans and Wolfsburg is VW BIG MONEY.

They're also in Lower Saxony? Though I'm not sure why VW would want to create another more popular local rival for Wolfsburg

Braunschweig and Wolfsburg are 30km apart. Every football fan from that region used to be a BTSV fan. And Braunschweig still is the more popular club and will always be.
It's not like Schalke/Dortmund. Both have a lot of tradition and their fans for generations.
So, as far as I know VW is the main sponsor of both clubs. It will be funny to watch what happens if Braunschweig is more successful after 10 games next season. Many expect an empty stadium in Wolfsburg.

I already excited about the derby, it's been such a long time. I'm afraid I won't be able to get tickets though...

It is very boring to see Götze leave to Bayern. That is exactly the opposite of what football needs. Really hate when other clubs steal talent from less richer ones. Makes football less intresting to follow.

It'll be Schaaf's last game as a coach in Bremen.

Sure, it makes things less interesting, but that's just the cycle of life. Bayern gets a player from Dortmund, Dortmund from Gladbach/Nürnberg, Gladbach from Freiburg, and Freiburg from St. Pauli, and so on, and on, and on. You can't not have it at the highest levels, and it's just necessary at the lower ones.

Madzu had a bad game. I wonder if Gomez is going to start against Barcelona?

Augsburg and Hoffenheim won really their "must win" matches. Immense pressure of Fortuna who will play probably a Dortmund "B" team today. Werder Bremen now only two points above the playoff relegation zone

Monchengladbach's top 4 ambitions took a big hit today after losing in Wolfsburg. Chance for Schalke tomorrow to gain ground on both Freiburg and Gladbach

I think Gladbach's european dreams are done unless they beat Schalke in their head to head match up and Freiburg/Frankfurt/Hamburg drop some very achievable points. Not the end of the world though cause not having european weeks to strain their depth would be really beneficial as Arrango ran out of steam months ago, and their incredibly young up front. With Kruse coming in and Xhaka finally getting integrated to end the season, they could make a real push for third provided they make another shrewd buy or two to replace Hanke, and give the midfield a little more help.

---------------De Jong---------------
Arrango----------Hermann---Kruse
---------Xhaka-------Nordveit-------

with Mlapa and Younes rotating in to keep that front 4 fresh, they should score a lot of goals as long as that midfield can keep growing. Shame they couldn't snag Rode before Bayern got him.

I doubt it, for tactical reasons. It's going to be a very different game. Mandzukic pressuring Pique/Bartra (Mascherano, if back?) and the deepest midfielders will be a priority and should help, especially take some pressure off of Javi/Schweini and hopefully allow the former to take less fouls and make it without a booking.

Good summary. I'll root for Schalke tomorrow though H96 won't make it to the EL.

I doubt it. Bayern will likely be content to see Pique and bartra play it back and forth between themselves and Valdes. Mandzo will likely primarily help Mueller take Biscuits out of the game, with pressuring the backs a secondary target in pressing.
