McLellan said Wayne Thomas and Corey Schwab will continue to share responsibility for coaching goaltenders and Brett Heimlich will remain as a coaching staff assistant.
From Pollak's blog. So unless they run with two video assistants, I think Woodcroft is staying behind the bench.

And as bad a rep as he has about work ethic, Semin is a freakin plus 92 the last 4 years.

Isn't it ironic that this team has a guy with the last name Heimlich on it?

Bravo, Maddy. Bravo

I'm very excited to hear about the new systems to be employed by our new staff. I've heard nothing but good things about Big Bird and JJ

If the sharks can turn this into signing Semin that would be awesome. As an added bonus if they signed him it would be fun to see how many TV appropriate puns Randy and Drew could come up with.

I have a much better feeling now going into this season and for what's ahead.. it seems like they are actually addressing some issues that were apparent to all and I look forward to what comes next.

Maybe what was missing all along was never having a coach with awesome alliteration.

I thought Semin didn't like the coaching staff, or was that just Dale Hunter?

They just had to get rid of the bald people. Hedican is going to replace Remenda soon enough.

If they do a "Drew's Top 10 Quotes" on his good-bye segment, his "U-G-L-Y, you ain't got no aliby..." quote better be on there.

From the Merc:

Ricci has served as a Sharks development coach the past five seasons and McLellan said that next year he "will be involved more actively with the hockey club and in particular the penalty kill itself."

We got the assistant coaches but we don't have the players to fit in their style of coaching.

well our talent levels arent any better, but our coaching is going to be much higher. tmac has essentially lost 2 of his hand picked assistants the past 2 seasons. wonder how they will all mesh together.

Interesting that it appears DW, not Tmac, has been taking the lead and gathering the new coaching staff. I had thought that the head coach had done this in most cases.
The Sharks have been trying to get faster for a while now. Why do you think they were after Vrbata and traded Havlat for Heatley? The moves they made last off season were designed to make them faster.

I mean I get the impression that some of you think McLellan doesn't believe in speed and is dragging his feet. This is ridiculous. The Sharks are still McLellans team.

Our Coaching on the PK was our biggest problem. The Penalty Kill lineup itself is fine.

The critics of Semin are similar to Marleaus critics. If you take what they say to its logical conclusion they are mad that either Semin or Marleau isn't scoring 50 goals and pushing 100 points every season. Rarely do they ever mention defense and when they do its to nit pick one particular play...

Exactly. I just don't get the Semin hate at all. If you wanna rag on him, talk about his fighting ability.

Seriously it can be summed up by: "Because you aren't hands down the best player in the league, you suck."

This is pretty much what both Bradley and Roenick said about Semin and Marleau respectively.

He scored on Tim Thomas from outside the blueline one time. Unbelievable talent.

It is a great shot, and its obviously been worked on for years.

Its not really absurd though. Even on the wrong foot, so long as you take advantage of the inertia and use that thrust to flex the stick, it will work. Lower the shoulder, bounce back. Hard to do, but if you got it down to the science you can get some great elevation on the puck.

If the Sharks can't get better players, they will make their current players better, with better coaching.

.....at least I hope that's how it plays out.
