The writing has been on the wall for awhile now. With the repeated mantra of getting bigger and tougher to play against, Little Timmy wasn't going to be a Jet this year if he played for free and washed Chevy's car every Saturday.

Is he doing this just incase of a lockout? I'd really like to know why, because if that is not the case, this doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

In a league where Brendan Bochenski and Mathias Weinhandl are Godly, Bluce Ree will be a superstar for sure. Good for him, he'll make some good coin if he dominates there for a couple years.

I'll miss him, he was suprisingly useful and seemed like a great dressing room guy.

Tim Stapleton (07.19.1982 was) spent last season in the NHL teams, "Winnipeg Jets". As a result of 63 regular season games in the bank forward was 27 (11 +16) points. Total assets in 118 hockey games in the strongest league in North America, which had scored 37 points (19 +18).
In the AHL Stapleton spent 200 games, which scored 177 points (73 104).
Note the fact that the striker was involved in the U.S. national team and played at the World Championships in 2011 in Slovakia.
Have experience in Stapleton performances in Europe. Thus, in the "Yokerita," in which he played for two seasons, won silver medals were the Finnish SM-League, and in 135 games, scored 137 (63 74) points.

Athletic Director HC "Dinamo-Minsk" Igor Matushkin: "We are pleased that this agreement has been achieved with a hockey player, who wanted to see in the" bison "in the last season. Stapleton has excellent speed and performance characteristics, suitable for our high-speed model of the game. The big plus I think his experience and performance, not only in the NHL, but also in Finland, where the player was able to observe firsthand Kari Heikkila. I hope that Tim will be able to realize their best qualities in Minsk "Dynamo".

Posted this in the Trade talk thread where it was being talked about.

Players are treated well there, I would not expect anything stupid to happen to Stapler there.

KHL has a few bad apples that spoil it, but it really really gets a bad rap here. KHL is by far the 2nd best league in the world, there is great talent there and it's a fun game to watch. Most places treat there players very well. I know Nigel Dawes loved it in Barys Astana in Kazakhstan, signed on for another year with them.

Anyways, good for Stapleton, he will be a top 6 player there probably, his game is much better suited to the big ice (see his dominance in Finland), he will do well there.

It sucks because he's a pretty skilled player who occasionally put it together and seemed really well-liked by his teammates. However, he is really small and he played really small, often lacking confidence to make plays that he had the skill to make. I hope he tears it up in the KHL.

Just weird real estate, my eyes bugged out of my head here. I'd have preferred a contract with Magnitogorsk or Chekov or something along those lines.

I hope his presence wasn't the reason Wheeler started playing so well, because if it was we may be in for a tough season.

Stapleton seemed like a great dude and had a good season last year in a utility role. He served the team well during his time here but I'm guessing the need to get bigger upfront meant the writing was on the wall for him here. I personally wasn't a fan early in the season but he actually grew on me over time; wouldn't have been averse to keeping him around as the 13th guy again. Doubt he had a similar opportunity this season though and took a KHL offer instead.

Best of luck to him.

I wish Tim nothing but the best. Good hockey player, and a great guy. Tim perhaps more than any other player embraced being a Jet. This whole off-season he's been tweeting about Jet fans and how much he enjoyed his time here. I really thinking he was hoping to be back.

Good luck Tim!

As far as I know Tim LOVED Winnipeg and really wanted to play here one more year even though he totally new he was not part of the long term plans. I think he was given a 50 50 shot at the end of the season to be brought back but time was ticking and he had to make a move. The coach really liked him.....teammates loved him and he was content to do what ever was needed from him even if that meant sitting in the press box until his number was called. But this is business and the Jets have to do what they have to do and Tim has to do what he has to do.

he gave us a very nice bang for the buck last season and I wish nothing but the best for the Stapler!

Always a big fan of The Stapler.

I'm not surprised there was no room for him on a bigger tougher team though.

Good luck to Tim in the KHL.

Little Timmy Stapes got raked through the coals here several times last year (mostly due to the way Noel used him on the PP) but I really liked the guy. Would have been a great utility/ 13th guy but if you do the math you can see that we don't really have room for him anymore.

Yes he really did get trashed here by a certain someone who is probably throwing a giant Stapler hate party right now. Personally I liked the guy and wish him all the best
