I was SO close to getting a Stapleton jersey last year. Loved me some Timmy Stapes.

Good luck in the the KHL, Stapler!

My favorite moment of him was when he was sitting in the penalty box with a teamate who decided to give him kind of a face wash with the towel or something along those lines. Stapleton then leaned to one side like he was ripping a fart in his direction. I assumed he was, and had a good laugh.

Good luck Timmy!

Huh. I knew it was too quiet for too long. Best of luck to you, Stapler.

Hope he does well over there.

On a side note... Guess I need a new avatar...

Little Timmy grew on me as the season went along but the sad truth is that if little Timmy could play as one of your starting 12 forwards your team just wasn't very good.

Haha, that was Tanner Glass. Gave him the good ol' glove-smell and Stapes shot him the most deadliest look of death I've ever seen.

Can't say I'm surprised either, but good luck to Stapes. He was fun to have around and will have lots of opportunity in the KHL.

Now Noel will have to find someone else to receive 6 minutes ice time a game.

Don't let him near the MTS Centre. He might burn it down.

I kind of looked at "Staplescrub" (copyright John Cena, mia) as being a glue to the dressing room. Borderline player giving his all, enjoying his time in the NHL, and keeping the team tight.

I'm hoping that the NHL doesn't turn into the NBA regarding height and weight.
That is one of the big reasons I don't watch basketball. What do I have in common with a 6'5"+ freak of genetics?

A least he got to meet Selena and Justin during his time in WPG.

Must be REALLY crowded if we don't have room for the Stapler.

Torn about this - great utility player, and put up some very good numbers for the role he filled. Glad he was able to cash in - he's starting to get on in years. Time to give some prospects a shot.

Best of luck to him over there - seems like a great person.

I'll always remember him for his overtime goal against Washington where we fell behind 3-0 before coming back to win it in overtime. His high whoop of victory was amazing.

I know someone who has a Stapleton jersey, and he must be pretty disappointed. While I am sad to see him go, it won't be too difficult to find someone to replace him. Time to let some of our older prospects take his place like Machacek or Maxwell.

That was a great memory and the fan giving him the finger as he was celebrating was a beauty. that was a huge goal and their line carried us that game.

Stapleton worked his butt off while in Atlanta and it is good to hear he did the same in Winnipeg. He was never 'too good' for the franchise. Have always thought he was an excellent catalyst on the ice - if not a great individual talent. Probably time to move on with Winnipeg's (as I understand it) 'get big' program. Good luck Staple-scrub.

Man, how good was that game..

Hope Stapleton does well in the KHL, seems like the kind of guy who could probably tear it up over there on the bigger ice.

that game was kind of the defining moment of the Jets season for me. I knew we didn't have much of a shot, but the fact that they came back and WON that game to keep us alive in the playoff race reminded me of how exciting it was to cheer for an NHL team. It was just a really enjoyable game and viewing experience and made me remember what it means to have an NHL team in the city. It was a great night.
