I'm looking forward to a weekend of just sitting in the Rock and watching the process unfold in person. No commercials, no Pierre orgasms, just me, the draft, and my thoughts.

Ended up going to the NBA Draft this year and wore a Devils shirt. Some suit tapped me on the shoulder and told me that I was a year early.

1st day gets all the hoopla, but I think I enjoy day #2 more. Since virtually nobody attends, you can have a front row seat with ease. Fun for me to track GMs as they walk around.
Its so hard though. There is just a mass of humanity on the floor. I just followed the Devils table. No one really did anything except crowd Conte and a big binder a few picks before their selection.

I might have just gotten lucky with where I sat in 2010. During the 5th round, we didn't have a pick. Suddenly Lou appears with Jon Merrill and his family. Managed to congratulate Jon as his entourage was being rounded up. Lou asked stadium personnel if there was a private room he could have for a few minutes. They said there wasn't, so they ended up just sitting in the stands nearby for like fifteen minutes.

I was also amused when Brian Burke quite literally walked from table to table asking if anybody wanted his 4th round pick. He eventually found a taker with George McPhee.

Even got a quick word with Bob McKenzie who actually remembered an exchange that we had on HF.

Managed to get a picture with Adam Larsson last year on Day 2.

I saw Burnside but he just glared at me in my Devils jersey, this past year. I wanted a pick but he stormed away.

The seats weren't that close I feel like, in Pitt at least. I could see everything happening but I couldn't spot Burke wondering or anything. Still a real cool experience I'd recommend for everyone. Freakin cold though.

If they finish in the lottery again, something is seriously wrong there.

No Sean Monahan love? Half of the general board is in love with the kid. I need to go watch a few of his games this season.

They probably would've been borderline first round picks this year, especially Pulock. It amazes me how big these kids in junior are now. Pulock is listed at 6'1, 200 lbs and Roy at 6'3, 190. I'm sure both will be even bigger & stronger this year too.

Josh Morrissey of Prince Albert and Madison Bowey of Kelowna are two other WHL blueliners to keep tabs on this year as well.

FYI, I'm likely going to be helping out with WHL coverage on HF this year in addition to all the Devils articles I'll still be doing, so if anyone has any WHL questions during the season, fire away!

This, absolutely.

It would be quite a scene if the Devils draft Brodeur.

Anthony Duclair is one heck of a hockey player. If we are picking in the middle of the pack or the early 20's, that's exactly who I'd want us to pick.... if he's still on the board.

There are a lot of F in the first round to pick from. We'll see some filter out over the course of the year.

There's a Subban again this year too right?

Jonathan Drouin would also be a solid pick for us. He reminds me alot of Daniel Brière, meaning that he's a small player with tremendous hockey IQ, plays with a edge to his game and is probably the best playmaker in the draft.

Slot him between a sniper, sit back and enjoy. I think he'll go in the first half of the 1st round, wich might be too high for us... or not.

An even greater scene if one of NYR/Philly/Pitt/LA/Minny/anyone else we decide to hate in the next year drafts Brodeur.

^ You KNOW that's going to happen. There's no way any one of those teams(Rags, especially) would even dare to take a chance that "Tony" would become anything remotely close to his old man and ends up with the Devils.....

I'd like to know where he got the "Popeye" nickname. He doesn't even look like him.

I did not really understand what you were talking about until the 2nd or 3rd time I watched the GIF. I started to laugh, that was funny.

On another note I am mostly looking forward to the 2014 draft due to Aaron Eckblad being in the draft. I watched him the whole season and the kid is a beast. I can't wait to see what he bring next season with a year under his belt.
