Quote:
ROOT SPORTS also announced today the addition of award winning hockey director, John Szpala, as the new Director of Penguins broadcasts on ROOT SPORTS starting this fall. Before coming to Pittsburgh, Szpala, a native of Brantford, Ontario, spent 16 years directing Hockey Night in Canada, as well as directing the Ottawa Senators games on Rogers Sportsnet. Combined with his previous directing experience and his involvement directing both Men’s and Women’s Hockey during the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, Szpala brings an impressive 32 years of directing experience to ROOT SPORTS.
Awesome.

Death to Steigy.

Between your love of Steiggy, your disgusting avatar, and your irrational hate for Pavel Datsyuk, I must say you are one of the strangest posters on this board.

Errey can stay, but Steigy can get to stepping.

Not even his employers respect him. They just seem to be afraid of firing him.

If Steigy gets fired, is there any chance that Mike Lange comes back to do games again? That man was a legend.

See, there's another difference between PGH and PHI's broadcasts.

PGH has a guy who goes on the air drunk, they booted him down to radio (even though the fans like him).

PHI allows their drunken buffoon to be all over their TV broadcast.

Paul Steigerwald has his gig because he's liked by people much, much higher than this guy's pay grade. He's not going anywhere.

If he oversaw Ottawa's broadcasts that means he kept Denis Potvin on the air. I don't think Steigy or Errey have any reason to fear for their jobs.

The fact that he has hockey experience is nothing but amazing news.

They could of hired some bozo with new ideas and no experience in hockey and have the broadcast turn into a sideshow.

Steigy can take a long walk off a short pier (pardon my French), but I've really grown to love Errey's oddball homerness, so he has to stay.

Oh wait, this thread is about the new director? Yeah, that seems like a good hire I guess.

Finally! I hope they never show that terrible camera view from under the boards during a game ever again.

Also, please keep Steigy and Errey. They're so funny and annoy the crap out of the Flyers fans at school who are forced to watch games on the Pens feed.
