You seem to be very knowledgeable about the games Wingels is playing. Are you in Finland and able to watch live ? or is there a link to the games to watch on line?
I'm passionate fan of KooKoo and in Finnish 2.league there is online-channel called MestisTV (www.mestistv.fi) where you can buy streams but they are pretty expensive (about 8-10 euros per match) and I'm not sure that they work at NA.
I try to post highlights of the games (JYP-Akatemia doesn't produce highlights) and report about Wingels performance. Here is quote from jatkoaika.com's game recap about Tommy:
"We are tryin to get leadership to this team and Tommy is showing great example of that to all. It's important that he keeps that level of playing like today" - KooKoo's coach Juha Juujärvi
What has shown to me about Wingels is:
- he has wicked wrister (maybe little inaccure but hard shot still)
- excellent work-ethic / good two-way player
- he is hard hitter
- he can be in role of playmaker but still it seems that the grinding role tries to get out
There was somewhere Jason Demers interview where he said that his enjoying his time in Oulu and just loving playing in Kärpät. Have to say that Demers is at this moment best NHL-player in SM-league and thats pretty good when there is guys like Karlsson, Filppula etc.. I predict that Demers will be one of Sharks brightest stars whenever he plays his next NHL-game. His confidience and morale is surely at the top. Lets see what happens if there is a full season lock-out when SM-league gets more NHL-players and tougher competition. Funny thing about interview when he and Kyle Turris where asked to name players in NHL who'd had played in Kärpät and they answered Pekka Rinne. Guys where shocked when they heard that Rinne was only Niklas Bäckström's back-up and didn't play much in SM-league. "Rinne as back-up? No way!"
Also Antti Niemi played his first game tonight in Pelicans against Jokerit. And they lost 4-3 SO. Niemi had 26 saves.
PollakOnSharks 2:39pm via Web One month into NHL lockout, #sjsharks defenseman Dan Boyle sees window closing: “For me, I look at a chance to win the cup and I'm
getting older. This is our window. I’m not so concerned about the money as I am with the fact we’re missing games and we're missing
an opportunity to try to win this thing. That’s what’s pissing me off.” No, Boyle wasn't suggesting PA soften up. Just voicing frustration.
