Wingels got lots of media attention after the game when Vantaa's coach blamed him for dirty hit. There is one of the many news about this hit: http://www.iltalehti.fi/jaakiekko/20...18835_jk.shtml (there is a link too which shows you the hit in time of 0:40)

Here are the highlights of the game and Tommy's two sick goals and one pretty pass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmL9c...layer_embedded
Thanks for the report. Sorry to see the 3 game suspension, but interesting that no penalty was called on the play. Looked like shoulder to chest hit.

Nice to see Tommy contributing goals, assists and a bit of physical play!

Saw the Wingels hit, gotta saw it was kinda dirty. Definitely looked like elbow to the head to me.

Looked dirty and intentional to me on the replay, but I can see why it might be missed in real time.

I like the hit, but I can see that it caught a lot above the shoulders there. I wouldn't want Tommy to back off from finishing that in the NHL though.

I am going to continue to have issues with people calling hits like this dirty. He doesnt finish "up" and he doesnt leave his feet. Im really not sure what the "hitter" is supposed to do in this case, not take the hit?

If anyone's interested, there's a stream to the Davos game (Joe) in the usual spots. First intermission right now.

Regarding the Wingels hit, it seemed pretty clean. Shoulders down and he didn't look like his feet left the ice. Nice hit.

I think the Finnish league is the only european league comparable to the NHL in terms of physicality. (closest)

FTR, Wingels was suspended for 3 games because of that hit. Looked pretty dirty IMO too.

He does finish up. It looked like his shoulder targetted the head and he followed-through with his elbow.

It won't be as easy for Couture and Geneva this time. Davos' Sykora is back and plays with Jumbo and Nash. It pays off:

Sykora: 5 goals, 1 assist in the last 3 games
Thornton: 1 goal, 3 assists in the last 3 games
Nash: 1 goal, 4 assists in the last 3 games

It's most likely the 2nd-best line in the NLA right now (Only beaten by Omark-Zetterberg-Brunner, who are simply ridiculous on a wide rink) and I think Thornton being back at C won't be bad for his point production either.

I expect an entertaining matchup for this Saturday

I agree, they are the two best line of the league. But the Fritsche-Romy-Couture is IMO the 3rd-best line.
Couture is doing an amazing job for the team and he's playing really well with Romy and Fritsche. (I think Romy is the second-best swiss forward in this moment)

Jumbo with only 4 pts over that span? Slacker-has-been-loser-choker ...
