Fallout Boy - Save Rock & Roll

Didn't see a thread for this, was wondering if anyone has checked it out?..

I'm pretty surprised as this album is honestly pretty solid. Each song has an upbeat tempo you can't help but keep listening to.

Interesting that the album is called "save rock & roll" when fob has been killing it since they hit it big.

I don't have to listen to it to know it's horrible.

The album is awesome. I admit to not making a thread about it though because it's gonna be pretty much nothing except people that hate Fall Out Boy. Also to the fellow pointing out the album name, it's supposed to be satirical.

Never though of FOB as much more than a clever pop punk bank. If I pay the inappropriate album title no mind I can enjoy it as really good pop rock. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it. My Songs, The Phoenix, Alone Together, The Mighty Fall (could've done without Big Sean but the end of his rap makes for a really cool transition), Death Valley, and Young Volcanoes are great songs. Miss Missing You and Just One Yesterday are decent songs but feel like they're missing something. Rat a Tat tat would be far more enjoyable without Courtney Love.

Was intrigued by two new albums, Save Rock and Roll and Love Lust Faith+Dreams by 30 Seconds to Mars. The former was much better than expected, and the latter bordered on godawful (only Up in the Air, Conquistador, and City of Angels are worth the listen.

FOB is the last band I would put my money on to "save rock and roll"

It sure does. We're talking about the band that did this to a Jawbreaker song:

I was surprised this album was a big deal... I figured they broke up never knew there was a hiatus.

Hard to respect a group that couldn't come up with an original name and had to rely on The Simpsons.

I do love this though.

For those too uninterested to do a few seconds of research, the album title has zero implication that Fall Out Boy is setting out to "save" rock & roll, rather that rock & roll "saved" them.

The only song I don't really mind is the title track with Elton John. The whole album is a pretty far departure from their earlier stuff which I can honestly admit was a guilty pleasure of mine in Jr. High.

Kind of a dumb name then, no? If that's the case, "Saved by Rock & Roll" would be a better name. The current album name suggests otherwise, which is what is confusing everyone right now. Even the promo for MuchMusic, where they'll have FOB in for an interview, make the statement, "They are back and they are here to save rock and roll."
