OK turning a discussion into a real way. Guys, how much would you pay for a ticket for a Kreator show?

I'm hardly a fan of them nowadays, but the best use of any kind of orchestra in a metal setting was by Pain of Salvation on BE.

Wow, i cannot belive you just said that

Sascha Paeth's production of the orchestra, and Turilli/strapolis use of it in the music just blows that song away. Than again, if you are more into simple orchestra like 1 string ensamble being the background, sure, that might be your thing. In Rhapsody, they often play a huge part in the song. Everything from rythm, lead to background.

Heres a list of top 10 metal cds ever from Digital Dream Door's site, their site has lists of almost everything on there.

Not a bad list, have to put some thought into what mine would be. No clunkers in the top ten thats for sure, and IMO they got #1 dead right.

1. Paranoid - Black Sabbath
2. Master of Puppets - Metallica
3. Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
4. Reign in Blood - Slayer
5. Master of Reality - Black Sabbath
6. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
7. Ride the Lightning - Metallica
8. Rust in Peace - Megadeth
9. Sad Wings of Destiny - Judas Priest
10. Ace of Spades - Motörhead

Anyone want to post their top tens?

BE has violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, and tuba present on it.

I don't care how technically good something is, I don't care how flashy something is, I don't care about any of that. Rhapsody writes awful music that is all style and no substance.

Mine would have have Saint Vitus, Sacramentum, At the Gates, The Chasm, and Agalloch on it. Not sure beyond that, requires a bit of thought more than I can put in atm due to class work.

You are talking to the guy who played War by Burzum infront of the entire school and our parents in the 9th grade. My metal level is beyond you

Hmmpf.. my top 10 metal cds.. that's a tricky one.. I'd say from the top of my head It would probably include 3-4 Bolt Thrower Albums, Opeth, Morbid Angel, Entombed, Autopsy, Converge, Death Breath and the first Decapitated album mainly because of the age they recorded it at (15-18) and even so they wrote many of the songs several years earlier. I find it so darn impressive even though it's not a flawless record by any means I'm just too impressed not to mention it.

Also I'd like to post a song from Death Breath since I really believe they are one underrated band. Especially their first full cd. It's magnificent.
