I thought Pronger should have retired before last season. His health went south in a real hurry.

Whats the point in being the richest team if you never utilize your money...We act like Winnipeg

Perhaps not Weber but we should have done this with someone at sometime
Burke already did something similar with Kessel. He didn't offersheet him but used the threat of it cause Boston didn't want to pay Kessel what Burke would pay him.

The Leafs have the best compensated management group in the league and spend to the cap every year. Lombardi is a prime example of using the Leafs financial muscle.

What we need is to hit some unexpected homeruns like Philly did with Carter, Richards and Giroux. Boston hit some unexpected homeruns with Bergeron and Lucic. Detroit has also. Even the Pens with Goligoski and Letang. Nashville with Weber. I could go on but you should get the point.

Adding guys like Schenn or Kulemin via the draft are nice but hitting an unexpected homerun is what sets a lot of the upper tier teams apart from the rest of the league.

It is too hard to tell where we would have finished but Stamkos is worth those 4 1sts.
Tampa would have matched.

He doesn't get paid if he retires. I personally doubt Pronger plays another game, but he won't retire until his contract is up.

If he physically can, he will. It looks like one last cup might be coming his way...
With teams like this in the east there is really no point in BB doing much but wait till next years FA

Imagine if he manages to come back and the cap hits work or whatever.

Most intimidating duo in all of hockey if Pronger could get back (which I don't think he can).

I would love it if Burke somehow miraculously pulled off a trade for Zetterberg. There's our #1 centre for the next 5+ years.

Zetterberg for Lupul, Bozak, Kadri?

Detroit won't trade Zetterberg and if we trade Lupul then we immediately need to find a top 3 LW.

I don't know if zetterberg would be as dominant outside of the Detroit system.. I also can't see them trading him, or him wanting to leave

+35 contract, he gets paid regardless whether he retires.

Pack it in, call it a HHoF career. He's done.

It counts against the cap but he doesn't get paid if he retires.

If he doesn't retire and goes on LTIR and the Flyers get cap relief.

We'd need to move some one before Yashin becomes an option.

Yashin obviously looking for a paycheck is unlikely to fool very many teams.

Yashin is not an option. Anyone thinking he is -- is out to lunch.
