November Update - 2013 NHL Draft

This is not a riser/fallers list, but a good indication of which players were off to hot/cold starts and are 'coming down to earth' so to speak.

The blog will feature better known prospects, as I haven't been paying close attention to the deeper part of the draft. If you know of other players who have caught your attention , for better or worse, feel free to post them in the comments section.

It's focused too heavily on stats. While it's important for players to produce, how much they produce isn't as important as how they produce and what else they bring to the table.

I agree. Especially when you have guys like Ristolainen or de la Rose(although not mentioned in the article) who aren't tearing it up in their respective leagues on the score sheet, but are still highly regarded due to their actual play.

That's why scouts actually go to games. It's about the all around play, the play away from the puck. You can never judge a player's potential based on highlights, which bothers me sometimes when people compare other players.

I agree with you guys completely.

Admittedly, I don't watch all these guys play and have to base my opinions strictly on stats, articles, and highlight videos. I try my best to do what I do without watching all the prospects actually play. I should have mentioned that in the intro. I will not forget to do this in my next post. Thanks for the feedback!

De la Rose, for example, I have never seen play.
