I think it's unrelated. If I go to train with GR, I will be in tremendous shape, still won't ever make the NHL.

Roberts has stated many times his training regimen is a build for hockey players only. You gotta have talent and skill, and you gotta be dedicated in the gym as well. Kadri so far in his career has the talent and skill, he just hasn't been working out too much, Dallas Eakins called him out on this I believe.

I remember few years ago I heard "Stajan and Steen are doing so well in offseason training, it's like Jesus ****** Moses". They still sucked monkey balls.

To be fair, Kessel looked like he had a new gear last season and he worked with GR last summer.

Roberts works closely with Matt Nichol, who is the Leafs former strength and conditioning coaches, who was fired in Burke's 1st off season in Toronto.

I don't ever remember it being any more than rumour that Kessel was working with Roberts. Do we have confirmation I am unaware of?

I understand your point. But most will agree Kadri's biggest weakness so far in his pro career has been his unwillingness to physical training. And now we've been told he's training with agruably the best in that discipline. Hence reason for optimism

You are correct to some extent, Eakins has stated both Kadri and Colborne needs to work on their stregthening.

Well Stajan sucks and Steen isn't one of the most skilled guys. He's a two-way player that gets around with hard work.

Kadri has a lot of skill but is tiny and hasn't been putting in the effort in the gym. Until now.

That is good to hear. Seems like he is really serious about making this team.

I've been on Kadri's bandwagon from day 1. I've stated it in other threads that i believe his skill is top 20 in the league(natural skill and ability, not in game scenarios).

To find out hes training with one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the hockey world is fantastic.

Kadri was actually playing center at the end of last year and in the playoffs for the Marlies. Zigomanis was bumped. I really do feel that next season Kadri will emerge and be a contender for the rookie of the year.

The best part about his development is that his first contract will be deflated because of a smaller sample size. He will end up being a fantastic price at the end of next year.

Awesome news, hopefully he improves his core and won't get knocked off as easily.

If he does...he will be a force to reckon with in the upcoming season. He can also deliver hits as well and not afraid to go to the dirty area. It will make him much better on the offensive zone and make plays out of nothing. We know he has the skill for it so if he can get this down, it would be awesome.

He played for Tampa but that was all. He could have trained on the side with some Tampa players before Dallas

Yeah for sure. Far too much is made size for hockey players. If you're a smaller guy in build and possibly in height, but you've got a great core and the right amount of upper body strength, you can hit like a train without having to be build like a dump truck.

He can't. He is already past the 10 game limit. But, let's start Kadri with Kessel and Lupul and see how it goes in pre-season.
