Im curious why does he like it there so much? I know who wouldnt like southern Cal and the nice weather but is it family? Their team isnt close to winning a cup anytime soon.

Love Teemu and glad he's got another year. Seriously think that he could continue until he's 45. He probably won't stop until he struggles to keep up and put up around 20 points. Reckon he'll put around 80 points this year.

Fans and family. He wont let the fanbase down. He has said he loves them in Anaheim and after all he has been through they have still cheered for him. He loves the city and doesnt want to move at this stage of his career. I dont know what is so odd about it.
good for anaheim and good for Selanne. you got to respect a guy who loves where he plays and is loyal to them rather than end his career as a mercenary.
(although id love he to be a mercenary and have signed with boston for a chance at the cup)
Teemu loves it in SoCal, where the fans are crazy for him yet don't invade his personal space. Nice golf weather. Although his wife would'dve been ok with him signing with Winnipeg, his son is playing high school hockey now and I'm sure he wants to be around for most of the games. I'd say he also feels somewhat loyal to the Ducks for giving him that 2nd chance coming off of knee surgery, which ultimately lead to him winning the Stanley Cup. Also, the Ducks have pretty much told Selanne that he has a front office job with them after he is done playing, so that just means more loyalty to the Ducks.
