No. Kronwall brings so much more to the table then Green ever will.

And trusting the "real time stats" to have any kind of accuracy, much less show any type of bearing of actual defensive play is completely laughable.
Nobody said they were 100% accurate. They give a pretty good ballpark though. Sorry that doesn't help your cause.

Considering the Wings traded Commodore receiving nothing it return for no other reason than to open a spot for Smith...

But please, do continue to underrate him. We won't get back into the half-point per game on 3rd pairing minutes thing... Maybe he ends up better than Green, maybe he doesn't. Green's a very good glorified forward, if Smith only turns out to be 80% of the glorified forward Green is, I'll take that over giving up multiple assets and paying much more money for a player we basically already have.

Kronwall is better defenseivley than Green for sure, and is one of the best at throwing hits, but to say Kronwall brings so much more than Green makes no sense. Green is miles ahead of Kronwall offensiveley. Green has a way better shot, better outlet passes and is better at carrying the puck out of his own end.

I get why you wouldn't do the trade because of his injures and sub-par defensive play, just thought it was dumb statement.

It's not a dumb statement at all. Actually everything you say Mike Green does way better than him, Kronwall actually excels at. He scored 15 goals last year. Mike Green scored more when his team essentially only played offense. He is great offensively, but not way better than Kronwall and Nik plays much better defense.

At this point it comes down to need anyways. Detroit needs another good defensive defender, trading their best defensive defender for a guy who is subpar defensively makes no sense.

No they don't
and they have yield absolutely no indication of defensive play.
