I hope you guess well. I like that idea. Also, when'd you get that blue name? And how long before I'm infracted?

It just seems like that is the hold up and in the past, when he was not sleeping, Lieberman was leaking his feelings to the world; which I think were always negative.

They made the special kid in the class a Hall Monitor yesterday and I have always wondered if a monkey smoking is sending the right message to the kids

After hearing the latest yesterday, would the next move be to get GJ, COG, and the NHL all in one room and start signing papers?

GJ to NHL - Here's your money.
COG to GJ - Here's the lease agreement.
NHL to GJ - Here's your NHL team.

GMDM signs Doan and (maybe a center?) and we all live happily ever after.

Well, if that were it theyd be doing that rather than trading jabs through the media. None of this passes the smell test.

No way that could open up any new/old can of worms.

Yeah. No kidding. I'd say if this doesn't work, we might be in a bit of trouble!

Oh jeez.. no way this will go to a revote. That opens up a new chance at the initiative does it not?

I have struggled with how that all works but that was my first thought. And the temperatures are cooling down so my boy over here <<<<--------- might get back to work.

not to mention that an opening for a new referendum will give Jones and crew and opportunity to fix all their procedural mistakes they made last go around. Like not ever filing a 100 word statement, amending the committee name et al.

Glendale won't proceed with the new lease agreement if there's a lockout. They don't want to be on the hook for $ 17M without the guaranteed 41 home games.

Jamison won't get cash from investors with no lease in place.

I'm fully expecting the deal to collapse unless the NHL and NHLPA come to an agreement very soon (which seems highly unlikely), or a clause gets added to the lease agreement regarding the lockout situation (which investors won't like).

According to Joyce Clark via twitter a few minutes ago..... the spokeswoman did not speak on authority. Per her and the city manager, no new vote is necessary.

Jones was pretty disgusted over the whole affair because his partner (and GWI) bailed on him. Not sure we'd see ol' Ken go for Round 2.

As we can see with the sales tax case these things are apparently just a "suggestion"

Apologies if this was posted before, don't recall seeing it.

Moyes' charter airline Swift Air filed for bankruptcy a couple months ago, leaving several NHL teams including Nashville, Boston, Buffalo, Chicago and St Louis unsure if their charter contracts for this season are going to be honored.

OK, now it is literally "2 weeks" from Sep 15, Doan and likely the GJ deal both need to get done.

Been watching the webcam up in QC for the groundbreaking ceremony. Badaboum is there, and tens of thousands of folks in Nordiques gear with little plastic Nordiques blue shovels and hard hats. Interesting to watch. A bit like being a Londoner in the forties and having a webcam in Berlin watching the Luftwaffe loading ordnance. Or perhaps like a German in a pillbox on a French beach with a webcam tuned into a US vessel loading troops onto amphibious landing devices. I guess it depends on your perspective.

I dont know, man. I will defend the upside of our market, but I'm not sure there is much point in attacking the one in QC. It's pretty clear there is a ton of passion for hockey in that town. Maybe those folks were just bored, but that's not what it looked like to me. We can argue all day about the long term benefits of this market versus that market, but i dont think there is any doubt that those people up in QC love them some hockey in a way that I'm completely jealous of.

I remember the Nordique fans coming down to Hartford with 3 bus full of fans during week days. Some of the nicest people too! Hope they get an expansion team...

Just FYI, today was a beautiful, sunny and warm holiday. And when you believe in something, you always find the time to support it.
