Really surprised Schiestel has fallen this far. The guy was an all star before he tore his knee up and I think it's very likely he becomes an nhl'er even if it's not with the sabres. Some of these guys that people are voting for now have very little chance of becoming NHL regulars imo.

The big question regarding Schiestel in my mind is if he's fully recovered from the knee injury. By all accounts, he hadn't turned back to form last year.
I think he'll be a big riser if he can show the form he did pre-injury. But right now, that's a big if.

Not sure what happened to Knapp since people were rather high on him coming off his very strong year at Miami. Perhaps New Toy Syndrome--Kea? Really?--but I think he's being overlooked in this poll.

The "New Toy Theory" is my guess as well. Is it that people heard the comparison to Gaustad and that we have a need for a bottom 6 middle man? I see the measurables and such, but what if he has another sub par year point production wise. Under 20 points in junior hockey does not impress me at all. Even when talking about pure potential Starting goalie > 4C/13th forward.

That's why I voted Kea. I see him as a 3rd/4th line guy in the mold of Goose.
Problem is, I don't see Knapp as any better than probably a backup goalie or MAYBE a 1B type guy if he hits his potential.

Varone again. Crawford again.
Schiestel is not even in my top 20. If he rebounds, great. If not... they are in no different a position than they are today.
