I'd do it.
Lol he's so overrated.

And what do you mean only for 'four' years? What happens if it was a five year deal, would you say "it's only for five years"? That sounds like a hell of a long time for a 35 year old.

I highly doubt he's going to get 4 year, 30 million.. That's more then Semin, and I realize how much intangibles he brings to the table.. But far too much.

I don't believe that offer for a second. If an offer that outrageous had been made Doan would have immediately signed before the GM had a chance to sober up.

Doan has said that it's all about his family and where they would be most comfortable. Money probably plays a very small part in all this. Which is why I think this "giant' offer from an east team is irrelevant.

I'd offer 7.5M caphit over 2 years, 5M caphit over 4.

30M for 4 years is ludicrous. Doan is a warrior and a leader who brings a lot to the table but he will be 36 before the season starts and has only one, maybe two good years left. What you are going to do, play a 7.5M cap hit player on the third or fourth line for one to three years? Force him into a top 6 role to justify his contract?

I can't imagine Doan really cares about the money that much. An opportunity for the Stanley Cup and a place that works for his family, that has to be the priority.

All he has is intangibles. Top three minutes, but barely second line scoring, and the worst minus among all their forwards. Was it an off year or is he used up? He is a guy I would sign for no more than two seasons and not for close to that kind of money.

Any time you are locking a guy in but need him to be better than he was last season or it's a bad deal, then it's a bad deal. I don't believe he is after that kind of money.

It'd be a 35+ contract to boot, which makes it horrendous. Doesn't matter though, guarantee he just goes back to Phoenix.

Guaranteed he don't if the League takes them to Contraction , which is a possibility with the latest ownership group crumbling , suddenly there's 23 players with no team and no contracts overnight .

Contraction won't happen. A lame duck season in Phoenix and move them to KC or Seattle for another go round with a crap market in a city dying to be "Big League".

I'd be really interested to see him playing anywhere but here for that price and ridiculous term.

He obviously does not want to leave PHX since his deadline to the Yotes was today and this got 'leaked' to the press.

And although I would take him over Semin in a heartbeat, what he's looking for is a joke - plain and simple.
