Toronto-Philadelphia

Not a fan of either team, although I do root for them against most other teams.

Jake Gardiner for Sean Couturier.

Both fill a glaring need (defense for Philly and Possible 1st line centre for Toronto)

Both are gems in the eyes of their respective teams, but I think they have similar value, with Couturier maybe having a bit more potential, but Gardiner being more established. For Philadelphia, if Couturier does end up living up to his expectations, do you think he will be content as a third line centre? And for Toronto, Rielly could be ready to make an impact as soon as next year, ("We had him ranked 1st overall" , B.B.) so Gardiner could be considered expendable, especially to fill your 1st line centre problems.

I'm sure both sides will think the other has to add a bit, but I think a straight up swap would be fair.

To me the value is close, but I don't see Philly fans being interested. Also, no chance Rielly will play in the NHL next year, quite possibly not even the following year.

Not a fan of either team, either, but Philly won't trade Couturier.

Couturier is more valuable than Gardiner.

Possibly, although probably not more than a 2nd. I could see an argument made for either one.

Flyers fans wouldn't do Couturier ++ for Weber, and they wouldn't trade Couturier for Edler. I don't think they'd trade him for Gardiner

Couts is worth more than Gardiner and is the better player as well, while also being younger.

Both Edler and Weber have only one year left. And I know a few Flyers' fans willing to offer Couturier in a Weber deal regardless.

No thank you. I see your point, but Couturier is more valuable.

I would have sent Couturier for Weber, but Nashville would have wanted more, and I wouldn't have been down with adding much on top of him.

If couturier is on the Market, as a Montreal fan, i am willing to outbid the Gardiner offer.

They would probably be asking for Subban.

I would definitely do this, as much as it would hurt to lose Gards, Couturier gives us solid selke-calibre top 6 C in the mold of Jordan Staal.

Philly has absolutely no reason to trade him, though.

Definitely an interesting trade. I'm a big Gardiner fan, but the Leafs have no skilled centers with first line potential and a glut of solid offensive defensemen at all levels. Yes from Toronto.

Just judging from responses(Philly saying no and Toronto saying yes), maybe Couturier + 2nd for Bozak + Gardiner would make more sense. Bozak would have no more use for Toronto, and would make an excellent third line centre for Philadelphia.

That's still not enticing to me. I certainly wouldn't add to Couturier for those two.

Not as bad as most Leaf proposals, but Couturiers ceiling is definitely a lot higher than Gardiners. Plus hes younger.

There's no reason to trade Couturier unless you're getting a top 10 NHL defensemen. I'm sorry unless you acquire one of the Doughty, Weber, Suter, Seabrook, Keith, Chara's, Yandle etc of the world I don't see that ever getting past a phone call with a click on Philly's end.
