2018 World Junior Tournament

USA will be hosting 2018 tournament and supposedly southern cities will get a chance to be tournament host.
Would that work for BankAtlantic Center, 31 games in 10 days (after Christmas, current format)? Would there be a need for second rink, maybe Saveology (Coral Springs) could work (or how about rink size?)?
Lots of canadians and other people in area during that time.

Would be great, but the ONLY way we would get a game or two is if its at the BAC. the Saveology Ice Plex is just too small for such a tournament.

Maybe they will host a game or 2 at the Amway Center here in Orlando. Building is only a year old and we are getting the Solar bears IHL team back next year. Besides hosting some pre-season TB Lightning games this year it will also be host to the 2012 NBA all-star game and there were rumors about it hosting NCAA Final Four games too. The WJT would be great there too, I'm sure!

It would probably be split between Tampa and the BAC if it were in Florida.

I've never heard them announce a tournament host this far in advance, except for Canada and their 3 year rotation.

Because of game schedules you really need to have 2 arenas to use.

i dont see it happening in Florida.....

Likely locations:

1. Seattle. WHL has 2 teams in the metro area in different 8,000-10,000 seat arenas (In Kent and Everett) from where Seattle would play games if it has an NHL team...By then they should have an NHL team. they could easily do games in Portland too.

2. Detroit/Ann Arbor

3. Washington DC/Philadelphia

4. San Jose/Oakland

With Canada getting it every other year...what they should do is give one of those to the USA and it be played in one of their border towns of Detroit, buffalo, or Seattle.

Your logic is not welcome here.
