Ducks potentially double their salary and give up the best player in the deal for an injured defender and an overpayed 3rd/4th liner.

Great proposal...

Since that is a no. How about: Mike Green + Brooks Laich for Bobby Ryan?

Green is injured too much and his play has gone down every year.

Marcus Johansson, Matthew Perrault, 1st round pick for Ryan.

That's a 60 point potential young developing center/winger, a 15 goal (30-40 point) young 3rd/4th line center + the draft pick.

Or you could do: Brooks Laich, Galiev and a first.

A 50 point grinding center/winger, a young skilled potential top 6 winger prospect + the pick, for the 60 point Ryan.

Just when the Capitals finally got their long sought after #2 center you want to trade him.

Remove Ribeiro from the equation and insert Marcus Johansson (potential #2 centerman) and add Jeff Schultz (hey if the Caps are sending that many bodies west they should at least be able to include JFS as one of them). Re-unite Laich and Schultz with Bruce Boudreau. Boudreau had Schultz both at Hershey and in Washington.

Thus:

Laich
Johansson
Schultz
2013 1st rounder

for

Ryan

Well, that one fullfilled the 2LC, winger and pick demand, but sailed by the not adding salary demand. With Johanson it may work.

So Mark Gandler not only represents Alex Semin, but he's now posting on the HF boards.

Well he's no Cam Fowler, the guy who has a career high of 30 assists. Green has a career high of 31 goals. If I were a ducks fan id be pretty interested in anyone who scores considering the recent cup champs stingy defense.

Laich (50 pts) + Perreault (35 pts) + 2nd rounder
for
Ryan (65 pts)
I'd not touch anything more than that if I was the Caps. And Ducks fans really overrate Ryan. He's no Alex Ovechkin, Daniel Sedin or Corey Perry. Next category.

I agree that he's no Perry or Ovechkin. However, he's a consistent player and very close to some of those guys and I know I might get flamed but Ryan > Sedin. He's younger and I believe that he can be mentioned in the same breath as Sedin. Anyway, it doesn't matter what you think about Ryan being good or bad compared to those guys but the value for Ryan is completely off.

Consider yourself flamed. Shame on you.

Not even going to bother debating you.

Just call me when he wins an Art Ross.

Caps fans, can we stop including Green in proposals for a while? No one on the main boards offers anything close to his real value and he has a lot of vocal, misinformed haters.

There is no chance that the CAPS trade Mike Green for that low of a return now that he is finally healthy let alone add to him. They will wait to see if a full off season and a new more offensive system will return him to the offensive output he had prior to his injury woes. If not then he could be part of a package but still unlikely.

Dont be dumb. We all know how good he was before he became an injury problem. No interest in paying him 6 mil a year to sit in a press box.

Anaheim get fleeced! A late first rounder and Mike Green.. Green hasn't even been close to the player he was 4 years ago.

Caps fans don't seem to realize Green has similar value in other peoples eyes to Hemsky and Markov. They all can be great players and amazing assets to have. They all have salary and health issues for how often they have played as of late. No team is willing to give up high quality assets to get them so their trade value is not going to be nearly as much as the team that has them.

Currently, Sedin > Ryan.

Future, Ryan > Sedin.

Simply put, Sedin is at the end of his prime and he could very well still win one more Art Ross however a GM must consider the future and in that case, most GMs would pick Ryan over Sedin.
