Batman was one of my many passions as a kid...combine that with Nolan's unique directing style and vision for the franchise and it's magic.

Early reviews are in. It's got a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and some are saying its the best in the trilogy.

"Entirely enveloping and at times unnerving in a relevant way one would never have imagined, as a cohesive whole this ranks as the best of Nolan's trio."

Awesome. I know him very well. My aunt is his cousin...I hope that doesn't sound weird. I've known him since he was a little kid.

We see lightning first and then hear thunder because lightning causes the thunder. If both light and sound traveled at the same speed, we would still see lightning before we heard thunder (just barely).

Interesting story. Seemed to be a bit of chest pounding for the typhoon which is getting jipped out of international sales because of the JSF though. The claims of beating non-US flown F-16s leaves me skeptical. I'm sure it's a dandy of a jet and in the hands of a great pilot as good as any in a fight, but claiming victory against everything out there including missile lock on an F-22 and adding the caveat of a "visual fight" is hardly convincing since visual dogfights just don't happen anymore.

Quote:
Flying the Tornado in mock combat exercises, Attridge said, he was often “glad when it was over.” No longer. He has flown the Typhoon in exercises against the Mirage 2000, F-15, Su-30 Mk.2, and F-16, none of which “caused any problem for the jet in a visual fight.” One civilian observer at Warton, familiar with the Typhoon’s capabilities, was less kind. Beating F-16s in a Typhoon, he told me, was about as challenging as “clubbing seals.” The Typhoon also reportedly was able to get a radar lock on the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor—the top U.S. fighter—in a 2006 exercise at Naval Air Station China Lake, according to International Air Power Review magazine
Radar lock is now a victory? There's all sorts of countermeasures involved between radar lock and a shootdown. And I would hope an aircraft introduced to service in 2003 would be capable of shooting down an F-16 which has been in service since 1978.

Here's what a US General said after flying all the aircraft (from wikipedia)

Quote:
In 2004, United States Air Force Chief of Staff General John P. Jumper said after flying the Eurofighter, "I have flown all the air force jets. None was as good as the Eurofighter."[94][95]
The Typhoon's combat performance, compared to the F-22 Raptor and the upcoming F-35 Lightning II[96] fighters and the French Dassault Rafale, has been the subject of much discussion. In March 2005, Jumper, then the only person to have flown both the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Raptor, talked to Air Force Print News about these two aircraft. He said, "The Eurofighter is both agile and sophisticated, but is still difficult to compare to the F/A-22 Raptor. They are different kinds of airplanes to start with; it's like asking us to compare a NASCAR car with a Formula One car. They are both exciting in different ways, but they are designed for different levels of performance. …The Eurofighter is certainly, as far as smoothness of controls and the ability to pull (and sustain high g forces), very impressive. That is what it was designed to do, especially the version I flew, with the avionics, the color moving map displays, etc. — all absolutely top notch. The maneuverability of the airplane in close-in combat was also very impressive."
That's a smart comment and accurate I think. Good story nonetheless.

So how is it that I exercised 4 out of 7 days (with 3 of them being just cardio), ate healthy and gained weight??

My clothes feel a little looser, but still...so frustrating!

The body does weird things, i guess?

I weighed in at 182 when I was at the Drs on the 5th. I wonder what I will weigh on the 26th as I have to see him again about the reason I was taking medicine.

I'm not going there for a physical but I will weigh myself anyway.

it's about how you feel and not about the numbers.

That's good! You'll probably gain a few pounds of muscle mass/tone and water weight as your metabolic rates changes.

You're exercising, which is a new thing for your body to adapt to. It think it needs extra energy reserves just in case. As you keep it up and keep eating healthy - and enough calories! - you'll stop dropping quickly I bet. A big big part of this is ensuring you're eating enough. A lot of people cut a LOT of calories to try to lose weight and sometimes that's not a good idea.

I eat anywhere from ~2,500 on off days to like ~4,000 on intense days. I'm proudly down to 185.4 over this weekend from a high of 215-220 or so about 2 years ago. I'd like to drop another little bit of stomach fat and then start gaining muscle mass and settle in around 190.

That's very true. It felt good to get out and run, I'm still not fond of it though. It's a new week. I'm tracking my calories through My Fitness Pal to make sure I'm eating enough. I try to stay at my minimum and not eat the extra calories just because I worked out.

Yeah, I believe in this mentality as well.

I'm going to use the tape measure and track different areas to see inches lost and not just weight.

Do it! If you burn off 200-300 calories, indulge in a 100 calorie snack that you "shouldn't" eat. You'll find it SO much easier to keep at it... well, at least I do.

Also, for your inches not weight thing... My ~25 pounds turned out to be like 4-5 inches. Which feels way more awesome then ~25 pounds does.

Fazolis Italian salad - B+ rating. C+ for diet value at 600 calories, A+ for taste.

Probably dropped to C- dietary value though after having a breadstick with it lol.
