We paid for JVR and are trying him at center, why not do the same with Perron and see what happens , worst case we upgrade a winger. The guy did play center in junior, same as JVR. Kulemin , Stuart and a 2nd is pretty close imo. Teams that initiate trades usually have to entice the team to trade by offering a little more otherwise theres not really a point.. Kulemin is expandable ,Stuarts a good prospect. Maybe people don't agree cause of needs but unfortunately the value is close, that's what you need to trade to acquire top 6 talent in the league..
He played center in junior. He 'd be another option at center like JVR. Young, played center in junior. Worst case if he cant cut it at center , Toronto end up with a better winger. I'm a really big fan of Perron. Obviously Toronto would have to entice ST.Louis , thats why its a nice package.
Just because a player played center in juinor does not mean they will be an effective nhl center. Perron has always been, and always will be a winger at the nhl level. And this deal isn't enough for the Blues to deal us. He's our best pure skill player. If we were to deal him, I can only see him being traded for a number 2 defenseman. No other trade will be good enough to get Armstrong to trade him. Barring some ludicrous overpayment that won't happen.
