Good. Now he can get back in his cage. Even cavemen do get homesick...he'll be right at home.

Paul Martin will go to the Culinary Institute of America to broaden his cooking horizons. Maybe then he can make James Neal an OMLETTE or EGGS BENEDICT!!! THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES!!!

A lot of Vityaz's goons were of the undersized "crazy career minor leaguer" variety so Gillies will still be a real heavyweight there. But one of these brawls one of their victims will get so mad and/or scared that they will tomahawk-chop a goon. Then the KHL will have another scandal and trash like Gillies will have what's coming to them. Vityaz alone would be reason enough for me not to sign in the KHL. How the league allows them to hang around is beyond me. The club usually finishes dead last in the league so it's not like they're some Russian Broad Street Bullies variant. They're simply scum.

Sid would take the year to rest.

Malkin to..... EDIT: I don't know. He had a bad KHL experience.

Everyone else to Sweden, Finland, or training at home.

I think Sid would play because of all the time off he's had, he is itching to play I bet.

This might mean that I get to concentrate on being at work (most games are usually on during office hours here).

What are the rules allowing NHL players to play in the AHL? Would they have to go through waivers? Or would there even be waivers if there is no labor agreement? I know players played in the AHL last time, but they were young and probably weren't waiver eligible at that point. If it mattered.

A player under contract would have to be waived to play in the AHL. A player without a contract would be able to sign an AHL contract.
