1M/yr = Fave Team OR 3.5M/yr = Jackets

Would you rather play for your favourite team at $1 million a year for your whole career OR Columbus at $3.5 million a year for the duration of your career

If your a Jackets fan, switch your team with your most hated team.

Jackets. If I'm being paid 1mil/year by my favorite team, I'm probably a goon or a back up goalie... there's no pride in that . Might as well make more than triple the salary in Columbus and perhaps get more playing time.

Probably the Jackets. Obviously I'd love to play for my own team, but if you have a very long career, you're missing out on a ******** of money.

Besides, it doesn't matter how bad a team is, when you're on a team, you're a team. Unless you're Jeff Carter then you're not, but otherwise you're just trying to win games as a team.

Favourite team for 1 per, if for no other reason than even if the team is forever stuck wallowing in failure, at least I'll be in my hometown for the duration.

If it was my 2nd favourite team at 1M vs. Jackets at 3.5, I'd go to Columbus.

If I played in the NHL, I'd be by far the worst player in the league.

So instead of dragging down my favorite team, I'll take the $3.5 million in Columbus.

Columbus. I like the Jackets anyway, so I'll take the added money.

Columbus actually isn't too far from Pittsburgh, so I wouldn't mind going there at all. Getting paid 3.5 million doesn't sound too bad either.

Favorite team. What's an average career, 6 years? That 6 million would allow me to live comfortably for sure and would've lived the dream.

If I played in the NHL, the team that I play for and pays me most would become my favourite team, so I'll take the jackets.

Compared to 21million? You could live a very wealth life. Your dream should be getting into the NHL. Not playing 5 mins a game in front of your family and friends for 6 years.

If it was actually me I'd go for Columbus, since I'd last about a 5 second shift before being hauled off and never seen again. Gotta maximise that earning potential.

But if I'm at least serviceable in some way then the Avs, no question.

In this game am I a superstar, as good as I am right now or would I be an average hockey player? If i was average/superstar player than I would definitely play for my favorite team. Winning the cup with your team is something no amount of money can buy+ a million dollars is good. However if I was terrible then I'll take the 3.5 mill and go with Columbus no need to make my team worse.

Wait....I'm being offered one million dollars to play for my favorite team?

I highly doubt anyone here turns down a million dollars to play for their favorite team.

I'll take 500k and say thank you very much.

il go to columbus and play myself towards a buy-out, then sign with my favourite team

This question also doesnt take into account if you have a blood-sucking wife who peers into your soul and wallet

If you do, then you're choosing columbus

What's funny is that many fans get upset when some players bolt for more money, but this thread is (mostly) showing that we would all do the same thing.

That being said, I'd take the Columbus offer in a heartbeat.

You're certainly not picking Edmonton.
