Westchester/Rockland/Long Island, HF Boards Roller Hockey Tournament !?!?

Coming in peace for now, would anybody have interest in putting together a friendly Roller Hockey Tournament, between the members of the different forums in either Westchester or Long Island?

If we could find 4+ people on each board, Devils, Islanders, Flyers, Rangers, that would be interested I think it could be a pretty good time.

Would there be any interest in participating? If so I will be happy to try and get everything organized, if not I appreciate the heads up and won't waste the time.

It depends, first need to figure out if there is enough interest to field teams, right now there is some interest on the Devil's board, and I know on the Rangers board there are people who play.

Then we will have to figure a location that works for everybody. I am hoping outside of NYC since it will be easier to get a good spot to play. But most likely that will be the easiest spot for all to reach.

I'd be in for sure, I can play any position. I live far out though (exit 64 LIE). Weekends would be best but I would be down for sure. I know the owner of Skate Safe in Farmingdale (off of Route 110), maybe I could get us an hour of rink time there.

skate safe is a oven over the summer. I think if we used that rink best time is winter Plus i think we would need more then a hour. Sounds like he was talking about having a few teams involved.

Yeah league is still going. We really could use a couple more teams. Currently we only have 7. I run one of them...

Apparently a member of the Rangers boards has a key and access to a rink for us to use in Brooklyn......

Would Brooklyn be a feasible location to meet?

I know everyone at skate safe, it's brutal during the summer but it would be the best time to get decent rink hours. Your gonna need more than an hour for sure. And it won't be cheap. If you guys are serious about playing there I can make some calls. I can also field a team if needed. Could even get a ref if you want. We talking for fun or win at all costs? I don't wanna bring in an all star team if we're talking just for fun!

The only problem is the west end of the U-shaped rink runs into a parking garage past the faceoff dots, so you have to duck.

...that's if LI fans are even allowed to take the train all by themselves.

I used to play in that Yonkers league. Fun times.

Nice, Ive seen too many injuries to stay in that league. Some cheap shot and some accidents. There are some good players though.

I've been playing there for 5 or 6 years now. From want I was told, they kicked out a few teams and players who would start fights.
