Yeah I was just trying to gauge value, with no concern for team needs. We need Subban a lot more than we need Ryan.

Of course I probably offended Anaheim fans who think that Ryan is worth a lot more than Subban and say a 2nd.

Subban + 3rd for Voracek + Meszaros

with the provision that both clubs get access to sign the RFAs (Subban and Voracek). The Flyers give up more overall but get the best player in the deal.
It starts with Couturier or Schenn for me. Yes, big price, but we have no interest in meszaros and we're not trading subban for voracek. So, let's just move on.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that. FA years were reduced in the last CBA. There's not a chance in hell that the NHL increase's them now - and if they're demanding that realistically, don't expect to be watching NHL hockey in Oct. I'll be shocked if they're not reduced further as the price to pay to having the cap % dropped to the 50-53% range.

Depends, Ryan is an elite talent. Let's call it for what is, Subban is our top pairing d-man, but just the same, Ryan is a first line forward who scores 30+ consistently. I don't expect ana fans to agree with me here, but from a habs perspective, while we need subban more, the BASE of the deal is a good starting point value wise.

Well, they have a few good young D but I see them going for a 2nd line center more so than Subban.

Pass. I appreciate Boston fans putting forth their best prospect but he is indeed that, a prospect. Subban is proven and as such, I'll keep Subban for now.

Habs have:

Markov
Kaberle
Diaz
Weber

as PMD, and that's if you don't count subban. I really see no need for Streit/Vis.

I'll be 100% up front with you, trading subban for me is pretty much a NO unless massive overpayment. As such, I'll tell you now, you likely won't find a fair offer with me. We have no way to replace Subban, pacioretty or Price and as such, they are keepers, that simple.

Habs want to build around something, and that something is not prospect after prospect. These guys are here for the long term and the picks/prospects we acquire, like the beaulieu, tinordi, leblanc, etc.. are there to compliment them. Only guy who has potential to steal a spot in the core and make it a big 4 rather than big 3 is galchenyuk obviously.

This. Subban is Montreal's #1 D-man. Even if he wouldn't be a #1 D, as many people here claim, on other teams, Montreal will have to treat him as such because that's what he is for us. In other words, will require overpayment to get.

Pretty sure Bergevin would drive PK to the airport himself. Subban isn't a Bergevin type player IMO...He's a pretty no nonsense kinda guy..

I think you're mistaken. Bergevin has pretty much said habs have a big 3 they will build around. Unless the last of the 3 is yannick Weber or something.

Hamilton for Subban is like Galchenyuk for Seguin.

Obviously Habs don't want to waste RFA years. Why sign him to a 6 year deal when he'll be RFA for for half of the term. They want to use up 2 or 3 RFA years then sign him long term buying UFA years.

OK fair enough...Just can't see Subban's act wearing well with Bergevin night after night... We'll see how he feels with his next contract..

Read + Laughton + Mezaros.

Most I would offer. He's only been in the NHL 2 years.
