If he gets another 15-20 goal season, I could see him getting Prust money, which could probably be seen as a discount, seeing as how Prust accomplished even less than Clutter. 2.5-3 million/year would be my guess.
Don't know about the dollars but I wouldn't be surprised to see Clutterbuck traded before his next contract. He's valuable and replaceable at the same time. If the Wild can fill his spot with say Bulmer (assuming he's ready to start the year or before the trade deadline) and get something good for him they should jump on it imo.
I would anticipate him eying 3+mil per season based on what comparable depth forwards have signed for in recent history. Still an RFA after next year though. Depends on how he plays next year, last year was not a very good season for him. Another year like last and I'd put trading him or 1-year/arbitration more likely than a long-term deal from both sides.
it depends on what the cap gets adjusted to, if the cap gets slashed or reduced then his take gets reduced as well. in the current cap environment 3-3.5 would be my guess, a bit steep at the 3.5 end, 3 tho is about right for him.
the addition of Parise and Suter has decreased Clutterbucks value to the organization. keep that in mind.
I don't think it has at all to be honest. We need guys like him on the 3rd and 4th line. He isn't going to score 20 goals, but that wasn't the big draw we had for him anyways. I think a $2.75M is perfect for him.

part of his value to the org lies in his popularity. he's less valuable as an on-ice product because we have at least two players in Bulmer and Larsson who most likely will bring more to the game than clutterbuck (not next year, but relatively soon).
If he goes 15g + 15a (or something around that), I don't think he gets over $3 million. He's still an RFA, so he'll either get 1 year at ~ $1.5m or a 3 year x $7.5m - $9m.
if we have to go to arbitration with him i'd say he's gone at some point that year. Someone would pay him over $3.5m on the open market. Probably over $4m. I would hope he takes a discount to stay here and see where the team is going, but i'm not holding my breath.

I just don't think they're going to be able to afford him when they've got all these young forwards clamoring for spots at a cheaper price tag, and he's got good value on the trade market. I love him as a player. . .my avatar is a puck signed by him. . . but it is what it is.

The more interesting question, is assuming he has a year more or less like the last two. . .what do you think you can get for Cal in trade next summer? I think you could get a bottom-half 1st rounder, or two 2-4th.
3 yrs/8 mil... He is still restricted and that would be a nice raise for him. What he provides to the team is too valuable to let him walk. He and Bulmer on the ice together in 13/14 will have opponents losing their minds.
All I know is that I wouldn't give him Brodziak-money, let alone over it. Clutterbuck is about as sound defensively as you can ask from a wing, but he's still a winger. He doesn't bring the on-ice value Brodziak does given positional value.
If it were me, he's a player I'm looking to move at the draft next year. Assuming that the team will still have the wealth of kids pushing for spots that coming year. Ideally, allocate that potential money towards a defenseman in a trade w/Clutterbuck or take the picks/prospects and use it towards a defenseman in FA.
