No again from St. Louis.

I'm not sure how many times one fanbase has to explain why they don't want to sell Stewart while he's at the lowest relative valuation of his career.

If you want Stewart for peanuts, then you can sign him for peanuts next july when he's had two horrible seasons in a row. If he bounces back next year, he's not for sale.

The blues have enough futures that he'll be replaced if he burns out, they don't especially need to flip him for assets, and they signed him to a one year deal because they have both the time and depth to take a wait and see approach on his raw talent and remaining potential.

Unless you're prepared to Pay up front for his potential, there is precisely no incentive for St. Louis to shop Chris Stewart at his current market valuation.

Zero. None.

Either make a ridiculous offer or be ready to be told it's not enough.

What would our incentive be?

Wait let me guess. We get someone who fits our system and style better. Here's why we aren't interested, because we already have a ton of players that fit that mold. It would be like having a ham and cheese sandwich and switching the cheese with more ham.

I think we can all agree that this site would be a lot better if all trade proposals were discussed using sandwich analogies.

I like this analogy, and would like to see it used more often.

Stewart = cheese
Kulemin = ham

All trade proposals involving Stewart should refer to him simply as "cheese."

I had something very important to say, but I have the munchies and this just made me really hungry

p.s. be careful of the use of the word "mold" when making a sandwich analogy

Haha, I was waiting for someone to catch that.

I have my moments. I may not have many of them, but when I have them, I have them.

I was already to come in here and be irritated with a proposal that doesn't make sense.

Instead I'm hungry. That's worse lol

Don't worry, we have just as much a problem explaining that to our own fanbase (as you can tell by this proposal). Kulemin went from 30 goals and 57 points to 7 goals and 28 points. Why on earth would we trade him now?

Neither side does this based on the fact that both players' value is lower than it's ever been, but there's a good chance at least one of them bounces back big...neither GM would want to risk that chance unless, as you said, the other side was willing to pay up front for their potential.

So Turkey is the Toews of meat? I just can't do that.

I've got to be one of the few people that doesn't absolutely love Thanksgiving. I just get a massive amount of mashed potatoes to make up for it lol.

I am going to close this, god knows how many times this SAME proposal has been posted. Let's try to find a more constructive one for the future shall we?
