Wish he'd offered the same amount as Philly did in their offer sheet instead...

Again, by then Hossa and Sharp aren't the same players and Keith is likely lost a step, we still don't have a #1 G. So while we MIGHT have a #2 C we are now trying to find a 30 goal scoring left winger who is defensively responsible, a 40 goal scoring RW who plays on the PK and is as strong on the puck as any player in the NHL, a Norris Trophy winning freak athletic defensemen who is great with the puck and can and willing to play more then any other player in the league, and a goalie who can help carry a team to a Cup and at times steal games and be a rock when the team is down. How many of them do we have in our system?

Best thing to do, fill the holes now using, picks, expendable players and prospects, (Frolik, Stalberg, Bickell, Beach, Morin etc) the hole is filled now and you still have the prospects you think can fill it. In 2 years time if the prospects pan out great, move the player, if not the hole is filled already so isn't not the end of the world. But to sit on your hands and do nothing while wasting the prime of your core players is the single stupidest thing any GM could do.
Yeah, no doubt about it. The time to strike with this core is right now, this year and next year should be our best years considering Keith's mileage, and Hossa and Sharp's mileage and age.

Exactly. Strike now while the above mentioned are in their prime. These folks that are looking several years down the road donít seem to realize what a rut that can be. We waited half a century to get a SC and I donít want to return to the days of knowing year in and year out that we will be better next season or in 2 years, maybe 3 Ö and unfortunately thatís where we sit today. Yes the future looks pretty good but the present team could look pretty good as well with a few changes and itís looking more and more like those changes must begin with management and coaching.

read again and try to understand what was said.

Ike comes up with trades that happend years before we won the cup. We could do this again but would have to wait again 2 years for this to happen like it was 6 years ago.

Let's say we finish 7th this year and 8th the year after that, lose in the 1st round both years, are you 100% confident Toews and Kane sign extensions at that point?

yes, Toews will sign an extension. I think Kane would do too.

Problem with this - we will be better than that in the next 2 years and if this happens, we would have a new Coach first and a GM on the hot seat. They would stay if we pay them what they want
