Party bus to winter classic.

So leafs fans I was thinking about putting together a party bus that will take us to Detroit and back. You can drink on this bus (It was the first question everyone I told asked me) It is not exactly legal but I know the company quite well and they have let me do this in the past. There will be a hotel booked (I need number of people first). I have called around to many bus companies and I have worked with them before organizing club events before. They are asking for roughly 140 $ per person to get there and back, this only includes the bus though. The hotel I am still trying to find a cheap one around there and I do not know exactly how much it will cost, but you should be looking at around 150ish (you can also split rooms). The tickets to the game I can get a deal on if we get a large enough group and it will not be nose bleeds, but I cannot say exactly how much, because I need to know how many people are going/interested first.

Is anyone interested ?

Please answer here and I will PM , But please don't waste my time if you are not interested.

That actually sounds fun as hell. I'd be interested, but there's no way I can possibly explain this to my parents. "Um yea mom, I'm going to get smashed in a bus with a bunch of random guys I've never met, and we're going to one of the highest murder-rate cities in the world"

I'm interested in going... Do you think we would be allowed to smoke marijuana or a cigarette on the bus, for example when it is on the highway? I know party buses to clubs allow people to smoke on highway

I can definitely ask. I know cigarettes are most likely aloud. Weed, I would have to get back to you on this one, most likely not.

Should be the other way around.

Sounds like a good idea though. I'm interested but would have to get back to you in September/October

My wife is a school bus driver. Just asked her if she could get a bus and drive, she thinks this could probably happen. We live in Niagara Region if there is enough interest we could get a bus leave from somewhere in Niagara. No smoking (any type) for sure, drinks prob ok concealed. Would need probably at least 50 people and would be on a banana bus, but would be fairly cheap. If there is enough interest by Sept. I'll get a quote for price. PM me if interested how many seats you'd be interested in.

I'm out if it there's smoking on the bus. absolute deal breaker. Ppl can smoke outside wherever they want but not in an enclosed space. Drinking is fine. One's drinking doesn't killer another's liver.

Original indications were that the majority of media and players were going to be spending their time at The Townsend Hotel.

The Townsend use to be a popular destination for many teams when they visited Detroit as it was well located to all major arena's and venues in the downtown core and had good service, but its a bit of a drive from Ann Arbour. It was more so for convenience than luxury.

I wouldnt be Surprised to see media and players find another hotel closer to Ann Arbor tho.
I for one cannot wait for this date!

lol be a man, sissy lungs, 1 bus ride isnt going to kill you. I can't stand smoking nazis and I dont even smoke. You probably inhale more toxic things walking down bay street on a muggy day.

I know you're half-joking but the smell of cigs/weed is not something I want to be around. I smoke a cigar once in a while so it's not about "1 smoke will give you cancer" but rather just a courtesy thing. I doubt everyone who wants to go will be a smoker.

If you're a non-drinker you don't have to drink. If you're a non-smoker, you can't not inhale the smoke/weed smell that's inside the bus and hold your breath the whole time.

It goes beyond a courtesy thing for you though apparently. Because if it was just a small "courtesy", you wouldnt NOT GO just because of it. You could atleast ask if people could maybe only smoke on the back of the bus with all the windows open and you could sit all the way at the front, Im sure the smokers would be happy to oblige you. Not say, screw you guys, I'm going home if smoke comes in my vicinity. That's being a smoking nazi.
