Well considering Karlsson just won the Norris this is a no brainer. But what sucks is that he goes against Giroux in the second round

Wouldn't be surprised to see Letang win this.

Karlsson. Best defense man in the NHL, shouldn't be close.

Nice to see Kessel losing arguably the worst matchup.

Poll is even more shocking than our own ranking of O'Brien at 13.

The results at this point aren't surprising at all.

Letang's arguably the best combo of two-way ability in the game among Dmen. And we all know there is a large contingency of fans out there that have a hard time differentiating the impact Karlsson makes from the impact a Mike Green makes.

Hockey fans in general, the people that make up these votes...generally don't know much. Most people are governed by bias.

EK was a -30 2 seasons ago, so that totally outweighs everything else he accomplished last season.

Letang missed significant time last year, meaning he could have easily put up seven points per game during those hypothetical games. It's only fair to judge him as though he was healthy, meaning he would have put up 259 points. He's obviously a generational talent.

You forgot Crosby doesn't get injured if Letang didn't miss time. Therefore you have to multiply your numbers by a few.

Apparently the poll is about whether you want a top goal getter or a top blue liner. Why not both with Karlsson? It's not like a team designs their game to shut Letang down

I just love how the description literally says "named the league's best defenceman" and he's going to lose in the first round.

Doesn't really matter. Apparently most of you don't think Karlsson is the best defenseman, otherwise he would be your vote for next year's Norris. Why don't you all vote for Letang?

It's mostly due to the fact Karlsson being better than Letang and Karlsson winning the Norris again next year are TWO DIFFERENT QUESTIONS.

Letang is a damn good D-man. Maybe top 5 and maybe a Norris contender if he stays healthy.

But you guys are right, I'm just mad everyone is so down on Karlsson.

^This.

The poll is right after Karlsson won the Norris, he should win the poll hands down.

Who knows what happens next season. Maybe Karlsson has as good a year as he did this year, but what if someone has an even better season? Doesn't mean Karlsson is all of a sudden not as good because he didn't win consecutive Norris'.

It may shock some Sens fans, but Karlsson isn't going to win the Norris every season from now until he retires.

Obviously not, but on THIS team, Letang would be the #2 D-man. Hell, he would be number 2 behind Chara OR Weber, and Karlsson beat both of them out.

Erik SHOULD be winning this poll. But lets face it: Letang plays with Crosby, which means by default, he gets a boost to his popularity and the number of Letang-Homers goes up.
