That'd be like a Batman series without the Joker in it. At some point, the two HAVE to meet and fight. But after being the main or supporting baddie in 4 of the 5 previous films, I agree we can shelve him until the 2nd or 3rd movie LOL

I say 2nd movie, then 3rd with Doomsday and Superman's death. Similar to Nolan's Batman series.

My jaw was open the entire time. Unreal. I hope they finally got it right. Anything Nolan is associated with is usually good anyways. Snyder vision is also spectacular. So pumped

Well, there's an interesting direction you can take with Luthor. All the other adaptations really only used Luthor as the psychopathic businessman image who was crazy for power. With Krypton likely playing a big role in MoS, who's to say that (a big IF we get the sequel) Nolan/Snyder don't try to play with Luthor's character a bit? What if we get the iconic Brainiac/Luthor fusion as the main villain?

This is starting to look pretty cheesy. And that CGI is painful.

Okaaay...

How long is this supposed to be? Looks like they're trying to pack a lot of stuff into it: origin, childhood, learning about powers, going emo, realizing he does have a pair, big fight with villain. I fear there's a chance of falling asleep during the first two hours of it before the action begins in the last hour.

I think with most movies that are introducing or relaunching a character, there's going to be a considerable amount of time related to the origin story of the lead character. Similar to movies like Batman Begins, Iron Man 1 & 2 etc.

I'm guessing we'll see Superman grow up while also showing Zod's story so that some of you kids aren't devoid of action

I didn't know you were expecting such palaeolithic cinematic techniques to show up on a 2013 movie...

Holy ****ing **** this looks amazing. Wow.

When I first saw this thread back on the first page my first thought was "you know, Zod would be an awesome villain to start with."

And...here we are. I'm pumped. I hope they match Terence Stamp, that has always been one of my favorite villain performances.

Looks pretty good. I do like the contrast between Marvel and DC, though I don't know how much more I can take of Nolan's depressing and morose films. Batman is fine as he's usually a brooding, darker superhero. I know Nolan is going for the lonesome, wanderlust Superman but something doesn't feel right with that portrayal. Hopefully Nolan proves me wrong but he didn't really get Batman's character down quite right.

I totally agree. CGI and high-quality effects are waaaaaay too mainstream for my tastes. They should be doing this movie with marionette puppets and Harryhausen stop-motion animation.

Heeeeelll no. You can't do proper superheroes in a depressing world, there needs to a sense of wonder, enjoyment, thrill ride. I mean, I've recently spent 8 seasons of seeing Clark Kent/Kal-EL growing up and becoming Superman. I'd rather not watch it again in a compressed form.

Haha I would hardly call Nolan's Batman universe "depressing" so much as a valiant effort at basing a fantasy world in reality. How uplifting is Batman anyway, I mean his whole origin is a little boy who sees his parents murdered in front of him? Anyone saying that Superman doesn't deserve the same treatment is just being "hip". I mean his whole planet is destroyed, not to mention the man himself is killed in the comics.
