Ashton-20-21 year old kid.

Frattin-24 years old.

Way too soon to give ashton the finger.

If we replaced Frattin and Schenn for JVR and Bernier, I'd have to question Burke's desire to get bigger/tougher up front.

Maybe Anaheim wants Bernier for Bobby Ryan, and LA won't send him to a division rival.

This is interesting but until I see some more sources I will believe this. It's not like Andi to say trade rumors so she must have heard something

Would Anaheim really be interested in a goalie like Bernier?

Bobby ryan is necessarily "bigger and tougher" up front. Just another lupul with tons more skill. If its getzlaf than yes i see where your coming from.

If frattin does end up leaving for bernier, than i could certainly see burke going out and gettin Winnik as a replacement. Plays burkes style

I don't know. Just trying to match up the names of players who seem to be available.

How is that a start? Scrivens set records in the AHL with his play last year...we are just gonna trade him away for a guy that has played less NHL games than Reimer and on a MUCH better defensive team and system?

This is similar to the Rask trade. We have a great prospect goalie and trade him away for a guy with "a bit" of NHL experience.

If we trade for Bernier, i would be sending Reimer back before i trade Scrivens....and even then what does a trade like that accomplish for Leafs and LA?

LOL

Bernier is 2 years younger with more NHL games played than Scrivens, has already won AHL goaltender of the year and was an 11th overall pick as opposed to being undrafted.

This is not similar to the Rask trade whatsoever, this would in fact be the reverse of the Rask trade as we would be trading the older goalie to get the younger better prospect.

Scrivens is not a "great" prospect. He's a college FA who has turned out nicely, and was able to be a very good AHL goalie in a solid defensive system. If he becomes an NHL backup, which is what he likely projects to be currently, we should be happy.

You're delusional if you would trade Reimer before Scrivens. Their value isn't close to the same, Reimer is again 2 years younger and has more NHL experience and success.

In any trade the Kings would be looking to get some roster talent to supplement their SC winning team, as well as hopefully getting a young prospect or pick and perhaps a replacement for Bernier as a backup to play 20 games behind Quick.

Bernier has some good potential but he hasn't played the greatest in the games I've seen him play. Big risk and while he might end up being a top tier NHLer he could just as well end up being a dud. A Cmac + Scrivens + 2nd is a clear overpayment in my mind.

Ashton + a 3rd is probably realistic.

If the price isn't steep - I don't see what the harm is in signing Bernier.
Reim's may never return to form (pre-concussion)

I think it's a worthy gamble as long as the price isn't too steep.

What is wrong with you people??

Burke said this, Burke said that......who cares. Things change.

Luongo would cost a 1st, a top prospect, and a NHL player.

Why not trade for Bernier who has never finished a season in any league, including the NHL, with a GAA higher than 2.81.

Bernier is far from unproven. He is a solid player. A future #1 goalie no doubt!!!

What? Bernier has done nothing in the NHL and he asked for a trade which lowers his value imo. Bishop went for a 2nd round pick and he was said to be a NHL ready goalie. Lindback took 2 2nds and a 3rd and that was because the Lightning were desperate for a goalie and are praying he becomes the next big thing also Lindback is better then Bernier imo. I wouldn't mind Bernier but I wouldn't give them much for him at all. I'd rather keep Reimer if price is to high.
