I think the Kings would be happy with picks for Bernier. They have their entire cup winning lineup back this season (minues Bernier if he is traded) and I think they are happy with that.

Bernier/Scrivens >> Reimer/Scrivens

No issues with Burke paying for his services. Based on his talent level alone he's worth a look.

As for trading them im not sure how highly kadri would be in there organisation considering hes a top 6 player and has been given at least 4 chances to make the club and still hasnt. They are always in on rumours for the top 6 players showing me they dont plan on him playing there soon. It also never hurts to start out high. I think they would be higher on ross then kadri myself
I would be surprised if Gagne got 82 games, but I think Williams will hit at least 75. He isn't injury prone, he's just been seriously unlucky with random broken bones on freak plays. Even still, one of Penner and Gagne is going to be playing on our third or fourth line.

Kadri and a second would probably get it done. I don't know enough about Frattin though... anyone want to fill me in?

Numbers aren't a great way of evaluating a lifelong starter who has been adjusting to playing fewer games in a season than he had previously played in a month. He has struggled to find rhythym in that role, but he is damn fine young goalie. He just needs to play.

Name the leafs best prospect....and that's the price or 1st...jb is the kings best prospect...I really don't understand how any rookie in Jr or ahl is better than jb who btw did really well that at all levels...and is polished far beyond a Jr player...really funny seeing frattin is a non starter for leaf fans...a potential third liner for potential A1 goalie...something wrong here

kulemin+2nd ? free up some space on the wing for kadri or if van reimsdyk doesnt pan out as a first line center in the process of adding an established number 1 goaltender.

Wouldn't mind that at all from a leafs prespective. Although giving up frattin hurts

Frattin + 2014 4th is pretty good value for Bernier I guess but if Bernier bombs in TO, Frattin is pretty steep price to give up. Tough built player, strong on his skates with excellent speed and a blistering shot. Frattin will easy carve out a 2nd line career at the very least. Don't know if I would pull the trigger if I personally had to take the last shot.

EDIT: I'd be much more at ease if Leafs gave up something like Percy + 2013 or 2014 2nd/3rd Rd for Bernier.

I'm not too big a fan of getting Bernier, it makes little sense for the Leafs considering both Reimer and Scrivens offer similar potential and none of them have really shown anything at the NHL level. Would rather get a older back-up than give up a guy like Frattin.

Come on now, you label Bernier a 1A goalie and peg Frattin as a "potential" third liner. Frattin has second line potential, easy. Kid's a beauty. No doubt Bernier is as well; I'd love him on the Leafs. And I'm sure the Kings would love Frattin because he's going to be a 20-25 goal threat IMO, with some serious physicality once he gets his confidence.

Frattin +(?) for Bernier actually makes sense to me. I don't want to see Matty go but Bernier has sky-high potential. Sky-high, I tell you.

Considering Bernier basically played only back-to-back games on the road, that's pretty good. The stats don't show everything.

Yeah as good as frattin could or might be in the NHL, no disrespect. Bernier is legit and in the NHL. Don't know if I'd accept it as la.

I just tweeted Aaron Portzline‏@Aportzline and this is what he said.

RT @echlined: are the blue jackets still interested in bernier from la? / Absolutely. Doesn't mean they'll get him, but they're interested.

Thought id pass this along for what its worth since most blue jacket fans thought it was only at the draft they were interested in him.

Frattin has played more NHL games than Bernier...

Not saying it is fair value either way, but your point is pretty baseless.
