he's selling himself. i kind of respect it, he is fighting to stay in the NHL and not go to europe, who can blame him for that? i wouldn't call this begging.

So a free agent seeing a good fit for himself now constitutes begging?

I am not exactly sure if it will prove itself to be thread-worthy, at all, but I'll at least change the title to represent reality a little better.

I'd give him an invite for sure. Seems the answers he gave in this interview were from leading question though, like "would you like to join the Canucks". I can't say I saw the "begging" either. Heck, even a 1 year 1 million contract could be thrown his way and I wouldn't be upset, he has a history with emerging goalies.

Edit: "Promotes himself"...that's a better representation.

He's still a NHL goalie, he just couldn't shake the injury bug last year. I hope he gets a contract.

This would actually be a good fit for Vancouver... if they move Lou of course.

Isn't it...? Maybe I'm giving the word a wrong meaning, or I'm unfamiliar with a general connotation, but I thought it would be a good fit. Or maybe I'm just paranoid seeing sarcasm where there isn't.

No sarcasm boss, I just made the edit because you changed the title as I commented about Ellis' begging. It works, relax, you'll live longer

Alrighty. I think I maybe could have come up with that explanation. Cheers - to living!

That's awesome. I actually kind of admire that to be totally honest.

I agree with ShadowDuck.

He is absolutely still NHL quality. I am a bit surprised that there isn't much of a market for him. If he is OK being a backup, I would have thought he would have signed somewhere by now.

Him and Nittymaki (sp?) are just about the only goalies available.

He's defenitely back-up quality, always was solid for Anaheim and was only bad in his short time with Tampa. The reason he doesn't have a job currently is because he had big groin problems this past season.

Not sure what the big deal is about this. Kind of ballsy. I like it. And of course he's going to say Vancouver when he's emailing a reporter at their local paper.

He's from Saskatchewan originally too, so it's not (too) far from home.

Honestly, the guy could still play in the NHL. If he's not signed in the summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a mid-season injury replacement.

Someone should invite him to training camp.

Who needs a backup goalie?

If LA ships Bernier, they will. Hoping that's not the case though.
