For some reason lately I find myself dreaming of the Wild's potential path through the playoffs, and I keep settling on this route:

First round: Beat the Nucks. Why? To shut them up.
Second Round: The Sharks. Why? Best Trading Buddies forever last year.
WCF: Nashville. Just to be mean.
SCF: New Jersey. How sweet would it be for Parise to raise The Cup, on New Jersey Ice, Wearing a Wild Sweater? You think the Devils board and their fans are in meltdown mode now.... *evil grin*

But I think I would prefer if we raised the cup on Home Ice. Because we deserve it.

Asked this on OT too. I'm lame for some reason and can't figure out where to ask this. lol

Here's my deal.. I have a close friend who is a France native. She has a little three year old or soon to be three year old who turns 3 on the 19th of August. One of the presents I want to send him is a little Parise jersey or something like that. Do you guys know of a local shop or place I could go to that might have something like that? I rather buy it in person then send it directly to her if possible.

ha sent you a PM for some reason instead of just answering: hockey lodge should have them already done up (i would think--you could always call). Otherwise, nameplates for that size jersey might be a custom job they have to send out. They should have the jersey on hand though.

I know, I think we might have to go inform them we got Parise to sign with Minnesota, don't know if they know it.

I wonder how many Devils fans know that after a major joint surgery (like a knee for instance) that while you may be "healthy" and able to play the next season, you don't feel truly right and back to your old self for about 18 months. Them using his surgery and "only" 69 points last year as a reason he can't/won't get 70+ ever while here is really infuriating to me.

i think they're counting on him being the guy who never really recovers.

i really appreciated the brilliant guy who said he wouldn't score half the points here he did with jersey last year. So...we can only pencil him in for 30ish points?

He looked pretty well "recovered" last year and managed nearly 70. But yeah, I saw that too. Some people....

If by some dark miracle we were to make it to the finals this year then I'd just as soon shoot for the stars and have my dream matchup against Winnipeg. The media would hate it. We could call it the Flyover Cup and it would be a thorn in the side of the east coast until the end of time.

If that happens we also get to call it the east-west role-reversal final considering how Winnipeg is further west than St. Paul is, yet it's in the Eastern conference.

But yeah, I would go crazy for a Minnesota-Winnipeg final this year. That would just be the ultimate expression of trolling the whole league.

You know Minnesota is the only team in the West that dramatically improved this offseason. Nashville, Detroit, Phoenix all took steps back, while the Stars and Flames took steps sideways, the Avs might be the only other team to really take a step forward next year. So that window is really open now.

This. LAK and St. Louis stayed pretty much the same, which is scary.

Pretty much everyone, and there would be no arguing.

Its funny because Kovalchuk had a back injury and they are some of the hardest to come back from.

Far more likely to be stuck with constant back injuries once you have had one.

Quite possibly. He's played in the KHL since 2008-2009, and he's a skilled rookie winger. He'll likely have little-to-no defensive responsibility - especially with the Blues' loaded blue line. He'll definitely outscore Granlund.

No seriously, I don't remember... Wideman?

They let Jokinen go. Iginla and Kipper are both sliding downwards. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the Flames always get off to a slow start. The last few years, though, they have had a harder and harder time coming back from their slow start. They still have a need to move a d-man and a bottom six forward, but they aren't going to get a helluvalot for that and it certainly isn't going to improve their team considerably.

Also, maybe it is just because I don't give a crap about the Flames, but isn't their prospect pool is just about as bad as ours three years ago? Kipper able to play 70 games? Confidence in Karlsson? None here...

/shrug

They also added Jiri Hudler and Roman Cervenka. But, yeah - Calgary's additions were nothing to write home about.

Question. Why do so many Devils fans think we will be punished for tampering? Are they talking about Nanne or J.P. and their interviews or something else because I certainly do not remember anyone in the organization doing anything.
