I think Calgary fans are expecting Sven Baertschi to make a really big impact as well. He could be a pretty darn good player but they may be expecting too much from a 19 year old.

So I ran into Parise and his wife the other day in the grocery store and boy was that cool. Such a down to earth fellow got his autograph on my frosted flakes. Ive met his dad several times in my line of work, but to met him as a normal guy doing some shopping was awesome.

PS
He lives 2 houses down from my aunt and uncle in Orono (buys shady astro van with dirty shades)

I ran into Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban today. Your story is much cooler.

I can't believe some of the things said in the "how will he be treated" thread were allowed by and some even said by their mods. It's really sad and IMO sick.

Sorry Fel but I don't think it's bashing their fans to say that allowing posts insinuating that Parise and Suter are homosexual is going way beyond the line. We all get that they are hurt, but there are things that shouldn't be allowed, even if it is their team board. It's just wrong and I know it wouldn't be allowed here so IMO, it shouldn't be there and yes I have reported said posts.

does any one know if Devil fans made this big of a fuss about Martin or Niedermeyer when they bolted to FA? i wasn't on HF boards then?

or is this parise saga a new level of butt hurt.

seriously tho, its time to accept that the guy took a deal where he wanted to play and thats that.

Calgary does remind me of the Wild a few years ago.

OMG, we signed Demitra, Rolston, Parrish, and Carney! We are going to be so awesome. Wait, we weren't awesome? No worries! We have Pouliot and Sheppard coming to save the day! They slot in perfectly to our line-up. And we brought in Belanger! He might be the top-6 line center we are looking for!

...and the only evidence they can point to that he lied is because he told a girl to "not worry" when she asked him if he would be coming back to the Devils next season (this was as he was getting off the bus after they lost in the SCF, if I'm not mistaken).

That's it...that's all they have. He's a liar because he said to a fan: "don't worry".

I think Parises sweater also tops the 'most burned' list for the summer. In fact with the summer heat New Jersey had to put a Jersey burning ban in affect to help prevent fires.

It's sad to see Suter nowhere on that list. He will have a much bigger impact on this team, IMO.

I agree. I get that Parise is a goal scorer and the bigger story but sad to not see Suter in this group.
