G'day everyone im a new member here from Australia. Ive been visiting this site and reading all of your posts for ages, just havent been bothered to sign up till now. Ive been a huge devils fan for about 10 years now and i'd say im probably the biggest devils fan in Australia.
oh well i'll keep it short, look forward to chatting with all of you!
I cant really remember how i became a fan, i think it might have been because my brother liked hockey but i dont know how he came across it.
We dont get any hockey on TV down here, we used to get some power pack show once a week but that was it. The only game i can remember being televised here was the fourth stanley cup final game between the red wings and the flyers, but even that was like a month after the game was actually played.

That's right, SBS used to run 'NHL Powerweek', and also screened the World Championships about 3-4 years back...woohoo!...but free-to-air in Australia pretty much ignores hockey unless it's snippets from a bench clearing brawl or something
We CAN actually get hockey here, but you've gotta fork out for pay-tv (foxtel) which screens a mix of ESPN (coverage is bloody annoying, as are the callers) and occasional CBC coverage which is much better.
This freaking lockout's hurting me even more because of this...I subscribed to foxtel (which is otherwise a viewing wasteland) solely for the hockey coverage...naturally, we end up with no NHL season...jeez.
