Only interested in Giordano. Not interested in Bouwmeester even if he cost zero assets. Hope Detroit gets him.

No. The Blues have two centers, Berglund and Backes and neither are going anywhere.

I am interested, but not at the cost many Calgary fans think it will take. Also, with FA d-men being signed at a premium, you know it drove his worth up a tad, even with the awful contract.

Bouwmeester's not the guy. He's just not. So why would we want him on the team PLUS erase all financial flexibility for two full years? Terrible idea. Can't wait for it to not happen.

Yes, because the blues are loaded with centermen.

I would give up a centerman in McRae if Calgary promised to trade him to Detroit where the Blues could compete against him 6 times a season.

I know, just seeing it from a different perspective...contract is crippling and I would rather the Blues either go with Cole, or find a much better option.

That's not a Blues fan hoping we get Bouwmeester, it's a rival hoping the Blues get him so STL can be worse.

Some of the radio guys have been throwing out 2nd and B prospect as value. Take that Fwiw. Probably reflects the contract as much as anything.

Value of Bouwmeester to St. Louis?

Exponentially small.

Well, I was hearing D'agostini plus a 2nd as something St.Louis was willing to part with. Certain posters scoffed at that notion..so it goes. Haha

I as a Blues fan would actually like to see J Bow in a blues uniform for the right price (which isn't much). I think if you get him back in a enviroment not Canada nuts hockey territory he could thrive again. He could also help up on the PP which I think we all know could use some help. He won't ever live up to that contract which is why you won't get but peanuts from the blues and a lot of other orginizations. However I think he would help us enough that for the right price you pull the trigger.

Dags and a 2nd I would do.

The value of Bouwmeester on the Blues is zero. Calgary would want a forward, of which the Blues have a couple extras, however I don't think JBo's presence, in lieu of an absent depth forward, would ultimately make the team better. Making the team better is the purpose of a trade.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the value of Bouwmeester on the Blues is negative. It's not even a wash.

The Blues would have to give up two forwards to make the trade equivalent in terms of salary. St. Louis cannot afford to take on $6.8M without giving up the same, which, for the Blues would most likely be two forwards. And losing two forwards is not an option for the Blues unless his name is Keith Yandle.

Armstrong is not going to include a defenseman in any trade for JBo and JBo would automatically become the Blues' highest paid player and would make more than double than the next highest paid defenseman. INSANITY!

No go.

Bouwmeester and Oshie are pretty comparable. Both look good, like they should be high impact players, but nothing much ever really happens when they are on the ice.

Actually that's a fan hoping for Giordano, and in which I responded with Berglund.

Not to be hostile but the reason there is so much negativity to the idea of Bouwmeester to the blues is he is a high salary defenseman and we are a very constrained internal budget team. If all it cost us was dags and a second id like to have Jbo on the team but the financial realities don't quite allow it.

Well....I still wouldn't want JBo on the Blues, but your main point is spot on.
