Official 2012-13 Houston Aeros/Orlando Solar Bears Thread
talk anything aeros here, for all the prospects, what ever is on your mind.
But i wanted to start out what people think the line combos will be this year, at least the top 2 with all the new guys turning pro.

you think they're going to fill the top line with young prospects? my guess is Dowell is captaining that team from the first line if he doesn't win a spot on the big team. Larsson get's second line center duty. Wings...too wide open.

This is going to be an awesome year for Houston. I don't care if they win, but it will be exciting.

So, any idea when we will find out the new Aeros captain?
Drew Bagnall FTW.

I know we want to think positive... but what does our lockout lineup look like?
Coyle - Granlund - Zucker
has a nice top line vibe going for it.

Let's not forget Scandella and Spurgeon if there's a lockout.
The D would be highly improved with them.

screw the lockout, hush that nonsense. anyway, you can guarantee our top young guys will see good minutes. i think larsson could center top line, or rau.
zucker-larsson-fontaine
coyle-rau-foucault
bulmer-phillips-?

Phillips should be on the 2nd line with Coyle.
Great duo.

there is no way Larsson is going to center the first line right away if Dowell is down there. (speaking of stripes)

no offense but dowell doesnt have the skill or offensive gifts to be first line material IMO. just doesnt seem to be his role

Dowell can play a third line role and fill it for large amounts of time on the specialty units.

Bulmer/Dowell might probably make a good 3rd line duo.
Only time will tell.

I'm not offended, and i certainly don't think he's better than Larsson (or at least will remain better than Larsson for long) but he has NA experience, is older, and just seems like a natural to mentor the kids. Of course i say this without knowing much about him. It just doesn't seem like something the Wild would do--stick a fresh fish into the premier role right away.
edit: though yeah, now that i review, he really doesn't look all that effective at the AHL level either. lead from the rear!

I don't like having our young kids playing third line roles, even if they are most suited for those. I want to give them top 6 minutes just for the experience.

Pretty sure Bulmer played on the 3rd line when he was playing with the Aeros.
Don't see why he'd move up.

It does. Just want him to get lots of playing time and develop some semblance of a scoring touch.

Well from the playoff last season, he should play on PK's so that's kinda a bonus.

But I wanna see him putting him in on the PK like J.Staal. Is is too much to ask?
yes, because every team asks for that
