Looks like you're right. It was only listed as a "rumor" on eliteprospects.

My mistake. I didn't look any more in-depth than his page on Elite Prospects a while ago. So that would make him a possibility. He lit it up with Hamilton a few years back -- good wheels and can get it done at this level.

According to eliteprospects.com, center Travis Turnbull, who spent three years in the Buffalo organization and played three NHL games last season, has signed with Dusseldorf of the DEL in Germany.

The Sabres didn’t offer Turnbull a contract.

Don't know why he's going to Europe after having a solid season and making his NHL debut. I'm sure some other NHL team expressed interest.

I'm late to the party on the Legault signing but I just wanted to point out that the organization has essentially gotten an ELC's worth of contribution out of him without actually spending an ELC contract, roster spot and bonuses for it. Not bad asset management.

And maybe he should fire his agent.

Sounds like Gwinnett is out of the picture:

"We're excited to move forward with Phoenix as our NHL affiliate. One of our objectives with an affiliation was to build a relationship where the Gladiators would become an integral part of a development system and not just a place to stash a few players for AHL call-ups,” said Gladiators President Steve Chapman. “The Phoenix Coyotes are interested in building the same type of relationship. We worked well together last season and we see this as an opportunity to build upon a solid start.”

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in this edition of the thread, but the Amerks already have two preseason games scheduled. I know many fans were upset that they didn't play any AHL competition last preaseason and only played a completely overmatched Canadian college team. That may have cost them some early points when it seemed like they didn't belong on the same ice as Hamilton in the opener or the Baby Pens in the home opener.

10/3/12 - vs Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 7:05 p.m., The Sports Centre at MCC
10/5/12 - @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 7:05 p.m., Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza

Hopefully they can add another game, but at least they're playing AHL teams prior to the start of the season.

Darcy's still stockpiling defensemen for their next playoff round against Carolina...what's Mikko Lehtonen up to these days? We know Jay McKee got let go from his coaching position, maybe he could come back and show the young guys how to avoid staph infections?

The have around 17 forwards right now, which is probably plenty of forwards. He needs to get back to taking reps on the blueline.

The Rochester Americans and the Rochester Police Department’s Police Activities League (PAL)
are joining forces for an exhibition street hockey game between Amerks Alumni and members
of the Rochester Police Department during the inaugural “Amerks Street HockeyFest” on
Saturday, Aug. 25 in the VIP parking lot at Frontier Field. While the street hockey tournament
for kids ages 7 to 17 begins at 9 am, the Amerks Alumni vs. Rochester Police Department
exhibition game is scheduled for approximately 2 pm.

The Amerks Alumni team will be represented by forwards Jody Gage and Chris Taylor, along
with defenseman Rory Fitzpatrick. The Rochester Police Department team will consist of
officers who participate in the Police Activities League. In addition to the exhibition game
against Amerks Alumni, there will also be “Cops and Kids” street hockey games taking place
as members of the RPD are teamed with children from the community.

My impression is the NHL is going to want to place some players 21 and under,as well as players still on their elc. who spent time in the ahl last year in the ahl this season. Not advocating it but grigirenko,girgensons,Adam,trop.......

Grig can't , girgensons probably will be bumped to the dub. Adam, tropp, Foligno would all start down as would likely Cody Hodgson and others on ELC

I still think Girgensons, more than likely, will be in Rochester but there is a chance he'll go to the WHL.
