And they'll be using the money they hoped to sign both of them with on one of them.

I'm not saying there will be "no" drop off. BUT, Roman Josi is pretty awesome.

Jon Blum will shine this year...

Kid is a dynamic offensive dman that had a really rough second half last year, but given a full opportunity, I think its time for Blum to step up and be in the top 4 for the Preds..

Took the words right out of my mouth. Coyotes will be his 1st choice but it seems Philly is the only other team in the running for Doan (based on his visits last week to NY and Philadelphia). Rangers are likely out of it after acquiring Nash.

I can't imagine the Cigarran and the owners are happy about this contract. They'll be spending far more money than they want to and I'm sure it will be reflected in cost cutting elsewhere the next couple years. With all that bonus money due, I will be surprised if they end up more than a couple million over the cap floor at the end of the year.

They were only a few over the floor last year despite the perception that they were willing to spend quite a bit. I think they'll be in some trouble. Poile seemed to get some of his mojo back after a rough year, I think the 3 years/6 contract for Wilson will turn out really well for them.

I just wonder about what Shea thinks. He may wanted them to not match that offer. He may just wanted the money, no matter who gave it to him.

The preds scream 1st round sweep as they are. They need to upgrade their O

Sounds like the Hawks as we are. Unless of course Brookbank was the missing link.

Just like the Totes were going to get swept last year?

Strongly disagree. They might not have the big names, but Trotz always gets the most out of the talent he's got. Its not like they had Radulov and AK for all of last year and they need to replace a ton of production. I also expect Wilson and the other young guys to make significant strides.

IMO, its all about how the team is playing come P/O time. If they're playing well and Rinne gets hot, they can beat anyone.

I don't get why all say that the holy cows aka Preds have that good young players that will step up for sure and the Core guys will play at their best, but the Hawks will underachieve again and the young guys won't improve.
we don't even know it Q will be the coach going into the POs... for all that come with Trotz vs Q (who has won 2 cups vs Trotz 0)
