Let's have some fun (the Central Divison thread)

Wings fans: We have sooooooo much Cap Space and are the frontrunners for Parise & Suter. Lidstrom can be replaced. If not, Holland will get a guy like Weber

that worked out great for them.

Preds already lost Suter and now have to pay Weber or lose him for a bad return considering what he brings to the team

Jackets had their stories to with those turned down trade from the draft (#2 for all Isles picks)

Only the Blues stayed quiet

If Weber leaves for Philly (Nashville doesn't match) then Chicago is the front-runner for the Central. St.Louis will be strong again, but their not going to be taking anyone by surprise this year.

Chicago
St. Louis
Detroit
Nashville
Columbus

Chicago, STL and Detroit all make the playoffs. Nashville and Columbus do not.

Semin is still out there, Detroit gets him to put with Datsyuk and they are dangerous again. Doan is out there too. Let's wait and see, it's not over.

Well the Central certainly won't be the 2nd strongest division in the league this upcoming season. I think the Hawks and Blues will easily be 1/2.

Detroit lost Lidstrom and Stuart this off-season. There's no one to replace them. Detroit wasn't going to have any problems scoring goals next season.

Yup, that defense is in rough shape. If I recall correctly, their PP had a rough go of it last year when Lidstrom was out as well. Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen aren't getting any younger either.

I still think that St. Louis is the favorites to win the Central, but I'm feeling good at our shot at getting the 4th or 5th seed in the West right now....

And if the Preds don't match the offer for Weber, I don't think they're even making the playoffs.

Detroit still will reach the postseason though, but I'm expecting them to be in the 6-8 slot.

And Columbus.... well.... sad panda.

Chicago finished, what? A point out of 4th place last year with bums like Andrew Brunette getting tons of premium ice-time down the stretch. The Hawks will be better next year, even if Kane doesn't bounce back and Toews can't stay healthy, simply by having Brunette's top-6 spot filled by a competent player; Brandon Saad.

Not to mention, Sean O'Donnell won't be with the Hawks again and it's not the like the special teams can get any worse.

this thread is meant to make fun about the other teams

not about the Hawks suck. DET lost big time, NSH lost big time, CBJ still suck, Blues overachieved but nothing bad to say against them yet. They lost Crombeen, what is good for us because his physical play was effectiv against us - in the 8 minutes of ice time he had.

The only contenders in the West that you can say got better so far are VAN (slightly, Garrison) and LA (having that roster+coach the whole year).

Too lazy to look it up but I think Garrison had an unsustainable shooting percentage and is no guarantee to be the same with Van. Case in point, look at Ballard.

LA runs the risk of having a cup hangover, but I doubt it.

if we had competent special teams we woulda been a virtual lock for the 4 and probably could have actually threatened for the central.

I would be happy if the PK would have been good. That alone would be great

meh, i can suffer a bad pk more so than a bad pp. I'm not too keen on our d corps and crawford wasn't exactly stellar last year. But given the amount of offensive talent, there's no excuse to not be in the top 3rd for PP.

This is being just as obnoxious as the fans you mentioned. Also, STL doesn't trap. Also, the hawks might be a fringe playoff team if no holes are filled and our coaching remains the same.

Top10 PP would be good enough

I would take a Top5 PK over a Top10 PP. offense was not our problem.

top 3rd pp means top 10 since there are 30 teams

I don't see the PK or the PP magically turning around with the idiots behind the bench who are too stubborn to ever change anything, even when it's not working to an almost pathetic degree.

I just know Cawford will prove his worth.

*This team gets top 10-15 powerplay

One of Saad, Beach, Morin, Kruger play well.

We are winning the central

Hawks-109
Blues-102
Wings-97
Preds-86
CBJ-82

Guess what
