Kinda surprised to see this.. Was thinking they may use the last? spot for another player..

But this is awesome..

Houston ? Or loan back to Red Deer?

So, 7 2012 first round picks have signed NHL contracts, yet #1-5 are not among them, nor is 8-10. Interesting.

He can't play in the AHL so he'll most likely go back to the Rebels. Then they'll have their roster spot back.

Agreed. Never got the chance to watch him earlier but after seeing him play in the development camp it was clear that this guy will be something special.

Probably the dman I'm most excited about from this draft. Probably the 2nd most exciting player too after Yakupov for me.

I'll just nitpick a little bit, but it's "Mathew" with one 'T'. Glad to get him signed, he might end up earning a 9-game stint with the Wild.

Some of us LA fans were hoping to land Suter and even with a cup win it's hard not to envy an excellent prospect pool like that.

Though I agree, I'll take a cup win over a bright future.

Any chance of Dumba playing his 9 games this year?

A small chance, depending on how his camp and preseason go. My guess is he gets a full preseason but no regular season games (lockout not withstanding). I think we're going to want to roll into the regular season with the team we are going to have and start out strong.

I doubt that a roster spot opens up for Dumba even if it's only 9 games

Wild fans after that useless winning streak your team went on at the end of the year you have to be ecstatic you ended up with a guy like Dumba, who many had in the top 5.

He will at most get preseason games but after that back to the Rebels to develop and lead them.. again.

I'm excited to see him in the Wild jersey nevertheless. Such a dynamic player

Not to be mean, but I thought Minnesota's D looked pretty bad (at least on paper), I for sure thought Dumba would have a solid chance at stealing a roster spot.

What am I missing here Wild fans?

5 one-way deals
The 2 two-way deals are Scandella and Spurgeon, both will probably play in our top 4
Jonas Brodin

General fans are just criminally underrating Scandella,Spurgean and Gilbert.

I can definitely admit I don't know much about Scandella. Or Prosser/Stoner for that matter. I do like Spurgeon's potential however, even if he's undersized.

I just don't know how Gilbert is underrated. I've never come away feeling impressed with the guy.

I just genuinely felt Dumba had a solid chance at outplaying any one of those guys in camp.

Not only would he have to drastically outplay guys like Prosser and Falk, he'd also have to outplay Brodin, which I don't see happening at this point in time.
